In the midst of a very busy day— prepping everything in time for CNY— I remember that today is a special day.
Today, I officially celebrate 13 years in Hong Kong.
What an amazing journey it has been. In 13 years, I learned so much, made a LOT of mistakes, discovered and rediscovered passions, built and rebuilt friendships, and learned a lot about life, love and the values that define us.
From building a business, to meeting my husband, to learning crucial life lessons, and even receiving an acting award. I didn’t realise that I was signing on for a lot more than I had bargained for!
Today, as I wrap up the year of the Rat (my zodiac!) that felt every bit as agitated (and accordingly, also demanded a response as agile and ingenious as the animal itself), I am filled with gratitude.
And more than that, I am filled with hope. For as crazy as the past 13 years have been, I look forward to the blessings that the next years have in store.
Much love and peace.

Minister Chan Chun Sing’s broadcast tonight outlined how Singapore will continue to make a living in this COVID-19 world.
The fall-out of COVID-19 will exact a lasting toll on the job market. Our immediate focus is on jobs — saving jobs, creating jobs, and matching displaced workers to jobs. We must also equip workers with the skills required for the new economy.
At the same time, we must look to the longer term. We will develop our intangible strengths, invest in our infrastructure, and create opportunities for our businesses and people.
COVID-19 will be with us for a long time. The way ahead will be difficult, but we can draw confidence from our strengths and values. As Chun Sing said, survival favours the agile. It is up to us to adapt and stay exceptional in the COVID-19 world. – LHL
