แม้จะมีเกมสยองขวัญตัวใหม่มากมายที่มาพร้อมกลิ่นอายและบรรยากาศเกมยุค PS1 แต่หลายคนอาจจะยังคงชื่นชอบ Resident Evil ภาคแรกกันอยู่ และนั่นทำให้ Richard Aiken ได้ทดลองทำอะไรใหม่ ๆ ด้วยการเปลี่ยนเกม Resident Evil ภาคแรกให้มีมุมมองแบบบุคคลที่หนึ่ง หรือ First Person แทน

แม้ว่าจะยังไม่เสร็จสมบูรณ์ในตอนนี้ แต่จากวิดีโอที่เขาอัปโหลดให้เราดูในปัจจุบัน ผู้เล่นจะสามารถสำรวจห้องโถงของคฤหาสน์ Spencer ได้ด้วยการควบคุมผ่านปุ่ม WASD และสามารถเล็งหัวซอมบี้ได้อย่างแม่นยำด้วยเมาส์ ตัวเกมฉบับนี้สร้างขึ้นด้วยเอนจิ้น Unity และยังไม่มีเมนูหรือคำสั่งใดทั้งสิ้น แม้กระทั่งจะออกเกม ยังต้องใช้วิธี Alt+F4

หรือแม้กระทั่งการจุดไฟเผาซอมบี้ ก็ยังให้อรรถรสและอารมณ์ร่วมในแบบที่มุมมอง First Person เท่านั้น ถึงจะให้เราได้ ทาง Richard Aiken แจ้งไว้ว่า เกมนี้สร้างขึ้นเพื่อแฟนเกมเท่านั้น และไม่ได้สนใจหรือมีเจตนาที่จะทำกำไรแต่อย่างใด ถือเป็นการชุบชีวิตภาคเก่า ๆ กลับขึ้นมาอีกครั้งด้วยฝีมือของเหล่านักม็อดและนักพัฒนาที่มีฝีมือไม่แพ้กัน

คาดว่าการพัฒนาจะยังคงดำเนินต่อไป หากทาง Capcom ไม่เข้ามาจัดการปัญหาเรื่องลิขสิทธิ์ ซึ่งเราต้องติดตามดูกันต่อไปอีกทีต่อจากนี้
