This short video clip will give you an idea of how difficult it is for Faith to fly.

Before this, she stopped twice—once outside the aerobridge, and once outside the plane door—refusing to board until we reassured and consoled her.
Her #autism makes her particularly sensitive to the sounds, G-forces and ear pressure of takeoff and landing.
If this happened a few years ago, we would be holding her down as she had a meltdown, trying to remove her seat belt and leave her seat. Instead she has learned to cope and brave the sensory overload.
This trembling behavior you see is both a form of stimming (self-soothing and modulation) and also the trembling of fear. We gave her a sweet to deal with the ear pressure, and my helper and I took turns to reassure her with touch, and joint compression. When the plane finally leveled out, she calmed down for the rest of the flight. She even took the Beats noise-canceling headphones off and returned them to me. She decided she didn’t need it anymore.
When we finally made it to the hotel, Faith had a huge grin on her face as she tucked herself into bed and rested under the compression of the blanket. That is her holiday bliss face. And her father also had the same grin seeing that happiness.

I am so emotional with these pictures !! Brody was having a meltdown . It was our turn to take pictures with her and he wanted nothing to do with it ! Snow White could tell Brody had special needs ! She took him for a walk and got him time away from the crowd !! This is true magic !!
I sent this email to Disney . Snow White if you see this please get in touch with me .
Hello
I wanted to share an amazing experience that I had today Sunday August 25th in Epcot. My son Brody has Autism and is non verbal . We went to meet Snow White by the fountain at the Germany Pavilion at 4:00 this afternoon . My son was having a autism meltdown . He was crying and was overwhelmed and just having a hard time . Snow White was amazing with him !! She kissed , hugged and cuddled him . He was laying his head crying on her lap. She then took him for a walk away from the crowd ! She was amazing . She held his hand , danced with him , took him over to a bench and sat with him . She went above and beyond !! She took so much time with him .She was a pure angel ! She was magical and my family is forever thankful and touched !
I would love to personally thank her .
Is there an email that you can share with me? I have attached the pictures that were taken from the Disney photographer . I am thankful these moments were captured . My heart is full .
Please make sure she is recognized !
We will never forget this moment .

4月2號【世界自閉症醒覺日】,以下這個資訊是星兒家庭要坐飛機去旅行的貼士,可能幫到你。
#世界自閉症醒覺日
Several situations have happened around the world where a family has been removed from the an airplane because their child who is on the autism spectrum had a meltdown due to inconveniences that could have been prevented.
Travel can be stressful for anyone let alone a child on the autism spectrum, and for Salama and I this has always been a concern for us and something we try to our best to prepare for. What we have learned through this video is that there is a "Special Service Code" DPNA which stands for "Disabled Passenger with intellectual or developmental disability needing assistance".
Travellers can use this code with the travel agent or airline when booking a flight which will then allow them to list the support they need such as boarding the flight early, getting a hot meal upon boarding, or ensuring that you are all sitting together, essentially anything that can be done to make the travel experience as soon as possible.
The problem here is that Airlines and Airports are not required to cater to the requirements when you use a DPNA code, more importantly many passengers around the world don't even know it exists. That is why it is so important to raise awareness for the DPNA code, to push our airlines and our airports to acknowledge the code and ensure that travel is inclusive no matter what your needs are, so that we can all experience travelling this world with safety and dignity.
Much love and God bless.
Thank you Travelport and Etihad Airways for raising awarness about the DPNA code and making this video possible, and for all the work you are doing to make global travel inclusive and safe for everyone. #TravelUnified
