●清楚記得是從光華商圈紅太陽抱著熱騰騰的「GX-40六神合體」回家，但沒有太開心。因為2008年當年日圓兌美金匯率飆漲30％，玩具變得價昂。生活收入持續低盪，要有未雨綢繆的準備，搭捷運回家路上告誡自己不可以再像往日般隨性複數收藏。
2008年全球局勢一夕變得嚴峻，世界油價數月內從美金100元竄到147元，而後11月跌破美金60元；台灣股市從萬點跌到只剩4000點。眼前消費緊縮，2009年台灣發放「消費券」活絡經濟。冰島國家更險些破產。

2008年前後萬代像是失焦似的狂開各種路線：「超合金楽」「電腦超合金」「怪獣標本」「VF100's」「TWIST ACTION FORM」「GIRLS IN UNIFORM」。或許與金融風暴有關？而後萬代旋即收拾戰場僅保留數款系列。萬代也是在2008年將「BOY TOYS事業部」超合金魂、聖衣神話…等高階商品線併於「COLLECTORS事業部」。「裝著變身」終止於2008年，「S.H.Figuarts」始於2008年；「HCM-Pro」終止於2009年，「ROBOT魂」始於2008年。
十幾年過去，2008年的「COLLECTORS事業部」已經長大成為藍色萬代「BANDAI SPIRITS」，超合金魂也穩定進入每月一發的第二春。回想起來，現今發展的許多基礎都是在2008年奠定。而這些基礎的穩定，恐怕也是源於2008年那怵目驚心的金融風暴吧？
