Growing up, my cousins and I heard of Batu Patong as a place where our grandparents were born, where our ancestors came from. If we are close cousins, that’s because we came from Batu Patong years ago. One story goes that a man went swimming in the nearby Kelapang river and ended up 100km downstream, and received a divine message to build a new village there. That’s what they did, and that village is where my father was born, Long Peluan. Across the decades not many people have lived in Batu Patong. Sometimes one or two families. In the last five years, people are moving back there to revive the village. This was my first time on this ancestral land 💙 thank you kakak Tracy, abang Mike and Sina Rang for the beautiful memories 🌺 Batu Patong is about 40km from Bario airport and will be open to visitors very soon 💫 it is located in Sarawak, Malaysia, along the border, in the world’s oldest rainforest.

It’s a last minute shopping just at the hotel before leaving to the airport .
No 13 collection of bags for Bella .
Her excuse was to help the Bario people she claimed ...
I just can’t say No to that .
Good Morning Everyone .
Love As Always ...
PS - I really need to be more strict with her .

FOOD OF THE GODS 😍 I’ve been in the kampung (village) for a week and the first thing I want to share with you guys is this. Wild red durian. All day, every hour. Breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert 😅 Every day we go and pick up the red durian freshly fallen off the trees that Tepu’ (gandfather) Jallong planted and Aunty puts them in a bekang (large basket) on my back, and then takes my photo and asks me to send the photo to daddy. I can’t really describe the taste of red durian, something like champagne plus white chocolate. It doesn’t smell strong, and it’s thorns aren’t as hard as durian thorns (the white flesh durian, we call Bua’ Datuk). Apparently there’s also wild red durian in Sabah and in Bario but with not much taste. Just happened to be in Long Peluan for the durian season 😍 Who loves durian as much as I do ??? 🙋🏻♀️ @ Miri Airport Terminal
