Every time I see a project such as this, inevitably I'd imagine "What if I kit bashed this in 1/6th?".... but the reality is, I've not been in the hobby for YEARS... but still it's always fun to think this way, even if it is stifling myself sometimes LOL

[5 Things I am grateful for in 2020]
#4
It all started innocently, and on a whim. Right after Phase 2 happened in late June, the wifey & I decided to bring the kids to a nature park every weekend. I still remember our first outing as a family since CB was to Jurong Eco Garden, and we continued with our weekly nature visits to various parks around SG.
But something changed along the way... somehow the usual nature parks got too boring for the boys. So I decided to make it more exciting and the term 'S.A.D.' was born. It stands for Sunday Adventure Date where we will suss out ulu (or remote) places in SG to hike. And so began our exploration to forgotten and abandoned places like Keppel Hill Rervoir, Seng Chew Quarry and most recently, Bt Batok Hillside Park. We even jungle bashed to locate WWII bunkers at Kay Siang and Sembawang! Click on the photos to see the adventures we had in the past 6 months!
All of these, I am extremely grateful for in 2020. I am thankful for having the chance to reconnect with Nature, and also discover some parts of Singapore that I didn't know pre-COVID. But even more than that, I am happy that my teens are still willing to tag along on our S.A.D. days. 😄

Today’s S.A.D.* was really one heck of an adventure! We jungle bashed through Bt Batok Hillside Park in an attempt to locate the abandoned park that was also formerly known as Greenwood Park.
Yes, besides the two large parks of Bt Batok Nature Park and Bt Batok Town Park (or Little Guilin) at Bt Batok, there used to be another nature park along Bt Batok West Ave 2. But the peculiar thing about Bt Batok Hillside Park is nobody seems to know why was the park eventually abandoned. I searched online for answers before heading down but to no avail. (Let me know if you know!)
But you can clearly tell it was once a park - there are remnants of stone steps, a well, fake rocks (probably for aesthetic purposes), decaying boardwalk, stone table and even the skeleton of a sheltered walkway! Tap on the photos to see all of the sights we saw.
Intriguing huh? Hard to tell from the thick vegetation growing all around that this was once a nature park. What ever happened to it??? Personally, I’m glad that the kids were game enough to bash through the forest with me to locate this ‘lost’ park. It wasn’t easy though as I had to navigate using my phone, look out for steep slopes and sharp plants and try to stay on course - all at the same time. The kids (and wifey) also had to keep up and keep moving so that the mozzies won’t have a chance to suck. 😅 And of course, what you don’t see in the photos is the tiredness and the grumpy faces of the kids mid-way though the hike when we momentarily went off-course. But that is fleeting because the moment when we located the old park, the satisfaction was immense. So when I asked them which do they prefer - jungle bashing or walking through the usual parks - they unanimously echoed jungle bashing! Heng ah. 🤣

I was stuck in server not responding while trying to get into my PA, then this guys show up and keep hitting me with the hammer, and with unbelievable attack speed.
So, after I finally get into my PA, I bashed him to see what he's up to, and yup, he did all that.
He deserve a permanent ban, right? Bethesda?
