根本是墨魚的親戚XDD

　　身為虎皮鸚鵡的遠親─澳洲特有種夜鸚鵡(Night parrot /Pezoporus occidentalis)，黃綠體羽佈有深褐、或黑或黃的斑點，身型嬌小、體長23cm。IUCN(國際自然保護聯盟)將夜鸚鵡列為現存族群數量不明之瀕危物種。

　　生活在澳洲內陸乾旱地方，個性敏感的夜鸚鵡主要進行夜間活動，行蹤鬼祟，受到驚嚇或尋找水源時才會飛到空中。由於1912~1979年，人們未見其蹤影，夜鸚鵡一度被認定滅絕，直至1979年，澳大利亞北部重新出現四隻個體，接著1990、2005、2006年陸續零星目擊夜鸚鵡活體出沒，亦有死亡個體。

　　

　　2016年11月近百年來首次記錄到罕見、羽翼未豐的夜行鸚鵡幼雛。這羽幼雛現存於昆士蘭西部的普倫普倫保護區(Pullen Pullen Reserve )，該保護區為澳洲叢林遺產保護組織創立，亦由澳洲政府資助。昆士蘭的兩位科學家Nick Leseberg及James Watson表示，他們正研究為何夜鸚鵡族群如此稀少，找出衰退主因方能有效幫助夜鸚鵡整體數量拉升。
