讚美廣場，不是「新加坡大媽們跳讚美操的廣場」（雖然名稱乍看之下很像是），而是一片由女修院與女校活化利用而成的歷史建築，目前是個露天餐廳與酒吧林立的夜生活去處，醒目的哥德式教堂則變成多功能禮堂。至於「讚美」（CHIJMES）到底是怎麼來的？回到家查了之後才發現，原來是舊名「聖嬰耶穌女修院」（Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus）的縮寫和「鐘聲」（chimes）兩個字的融合，取其中文諧音而成的。

A re-vitalized former Catholic nunnery, girl's school, and now a popular spot for Europe-style open-air bars and restaurants at night. The splendid Gothic Cathedral still stands and testifies the history of this place. What I didn't realize until after the trip is, CHIJMES is a combination of the name of the original church, Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ), and the word "chimes", which echoes the sound from the bell tower.
