是要提醒大家做子女後代的都要有要孝順父母,報答​父母​,紀念祖先​的恩德​和尊敬尊愛長輩們！

所以基本上出新車,搬家買房子都不是太大的問題！
大家可以相信,但不要迷信！

Your old ways from your home country may fare badly in this new society. Do your homework. There’re many more areas your children need to be taught in order to be successful in Western society.

Every year, Mazu (the patron goddess of seafarers) sets off on a pilgrimage from her home at Zhenlan Temple in Taichung’s Dajia District. This is the biggest Mazu pilgrimage in Taiwan in terms of the number of official participating brigades, or processional teams. It also has the largest number of followers who spontaneously join the procession along the way. The route of the nine-day, eight-night procession follows the path of early immigrants as they spread out across Taiwan. Apart from revisiting historical paths, the procession also strengthens the faith of local believers and helps them gain a deeper understanding of the significant cultural value behind this event. This ancient and elaborate sacrificial rite is a precious cultural asset. In recent years, the scale of the event has grown, becoming a classic example of how folk religion evolves in response to societal changes. In recent years, Dajia’s Mazu Pilgrimage has been named one of the world’s three biggest religious festivals by the Discovery Channel, and UNESCO has included Mazu beliefs and customs on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Today we are visiting our new flat with my parents in law and we are going to do some house warming rituals. My family in law are Chinese Singaporeans, meaning we will follow the Chinese rituals. It was an epic and shocking day for me because I had never rolled a pineapple in my whole life. We never play-play with food in Japanese culture, but I guess in Chinese, it's not considered "playing with food" in special occasions. I like that. Ong Lai Huat Ah!!

I had weddings both in Singapore and Japan so I made this comparison video. Marriage traditions and customs can be quite different in both countries. Watch till the end to find out some of the differences!

My most memorable experience was preparing for Guo Da Li (As shown on 03:19). It's a Chinese tradition where the groom gives gifts such as pig trotters, alcohol, cash and mandarins to show respect and seek approval of marriage. In return, my parent in laws returned back some of the gifts, and also gave my wife and I golden rings. This is called Hui Li（回礼） and it's meant to share good fortune.
Having a Shinto-style wedding (called the Shinzen-shiki 神前式) in Japan was also memorable. It's the most traditional style of wedding in Japan but ironically, most Japanese couples prefer chapel-style weddings.

There are a lot of things I missed (like the Chinese tea-ceremony) so hopefully I can make a sequel someday! Thank you for watching. Please leave a like if you enjoyed!
