Had a bit of fun with https://Colourise.sg. It’s a free website that lets you upload old black and white photos and colourise them instantly.
Colourise was developed by GovTech (Government Technology Agency of Singapore) engineers for an internal hackathon. It uses machine learning and AI, and was developed specifically for old Singaporean photos. Seeing old photos transformed into beautiful colour is quite astounding. I tried it out on an old photo, taken when I was at the Outward Bound Singapore. It worked remarkably well. I’m glad the app was released in time for #SGBicentennial.
