這支影片幾年前上傳到Youtube時，有觀眾留言問：

老師，不好意思，我想請問您 ：那些惡人今世可以賺到不斐的財富，是因為前世他們累積了不可思議的福報導致。

那麼佛教有種說法，就是我們累世輪迴，這一世就是靈魂繼承上世的修行程度。你修的好的地方（善緣福報）你修的不好的地方（惡緣惡報）都會帶來這一世讓你繼續修，最終目的就是修到大圓滿 然後成佛。

可是我的問題是，那些惡人如果上世能夠累積到這麼多的福報，那麼本質上他的靈魂就一定是善的居多，怎麼這一世會偏差的這麼遠呢？ 令人費解@@ 不好意思想請教老師...

我那時簡單的回覆：

您好。菩薩有隔世之迷，而且人之初，性混沌，遇到善緣，人會變善，遇到惡緣，人會變惡。

但問題是，修過福報的人，不一定是守五戒的人，因為他們可能不曾修過智慧，習性特重，便不會產生這定力不去犯錯。

打個比方，成龍享有巨大的財富和名氣，和他喜歡做慈善的心性有關係，但他還是犯了淫，因為定力不足，喜色成性。後代房祖名吸毒不爭氣，成龍受千夫所指，也是邪淫果報之一。

喜做善，不代表沒有在行惡。行了惡，又沒有懺悔，就會有這般善惡交叉的命運。但惡人再惡，善緣臨時也會有放下屠刀，立地成佛的一天，如佛陀弟子央掘魔罗。

When I uploaded this video on my Youtube channel 4 years ago, a viewer left a comment asking,

"Teacher, sorry but I wish to ask, those villiians can earn bountiful wealth because of the incredible good fortune they accumulated in their past lives.

In Buddhism, there is this theory: our souls in this lifetime is the product of our cultivation from past lives. Thus, for this life, you will continue to cultivate the areas you did well in (virtuous affinities & good fortune) and the areas you fail in (negative affinities & retribution).

The final goal is to accomplish Great Perfection and eventually, attain Buddhahood.

But my question is, if those villians accumulated so much good fortune in their past lives, then the essence of their souls should have more goodness in them. Why the vast difference in this life? This is perplexing. @@ Sorry I wish to ask Teacher ...”

My simple reply at that time:

Hi, a Bodhisattva will experience confusion between his past and current lives. When man is born, his nature is chaotic. He becomes virtuous when he meets virtuous conditions, and turns vile, when he meets malevolent affinities.

The problem is a person who has cultivated good fortune may not be a person who adheres to the five precepts. Because they may not have cultivated wisdom, they are still very prone to their habitual tendencies and lack the meditative strength to avoid committing sins.

For example, Jackie Chan enjoys enormous wealth and fame. This got to do with his fondness for doing charity. But he still committed sexual misconduct due to his lack of restraint. Thus his son, Jaycee Chan, was a drug abuser and let the family down. Jackie Chan was universally condemned and this is one retribution of his sexual misconduct.

A person doing virtuous deeds does not mean he is not doing bad deeds on the other hand. If there is no repentance after a bad deed is done, he will end up with a Destiny of good and bad interweaved in it.

But no matter how malevolent a villain may be, when his virtuous affinity approaches, there will come a day when he is willing to lay down the butcher's knife to become a Buddha, i.e. repent and be absolved of his past sins.

Just like Buddha's disciple, Angulimala.

那直播是我在2017年做的。還記得那天見了兩位客人，當晚1:10am三更半夜，興致勃勃地在沒有人的購物中心開直播。

都工作一整天了，我哪來的熱血沸騰呢？

因為那時不久前，看了這成龍2013年開講的影片，了解了他的奮鬥史，心中不停地為他所說的話歡呼及鼓掌。

這麼簡單的道理，三歲小孩都懂，可你知道嗎，很多人根本做不到。

大家的家庭背景差不多，學歷也差不多，為什麼有的人就能跑在那麽前面，有的差那麼遠？

我見的客人當中，很多人敗給了欲望，但更多的人是敗給了細節和傲慢，無論是修行上還是生活上。

這麼多年，通過我的文章和影片，我都苦口婆心地在告訴我的讀者、客人和小朋友們，因為我不想你迷上玄學，而忽略真正讓你失敗的原因。可能你聽了，只會覺得我苛刻，但你有沒有想過，可能因為是你不願意為更大的成功去奮鬥？

還是你甘心，被圍繞著你身邊的業障給阻礙呢？

成功的人，不會找藉口，不會只是在臉書上潑婦罵街。

他們只會找辦法，虛心向好的師父學。

有的人只研究八字風水，卻忽略了因果論。他們的盲點是以為八字和風水造就了一個人的個性。事實上，一個人的個性造就了他的八字，而因此引來了那樣的風水。

成龍是一個大福之人，因為前世、今世，他都不斷地種了很多的福因，利益了百千萬的人，所以才有大富貴大桃花之命。全世界最有名的華人，無論什麼膚色的人都認識的，應該就只有成龍了。

看看現實生活中成龍的事蹟，你就會明白自己哪裡不夠努力了。

當然，成功不只是名成利就，還有婚姻、家庭裡及宗教。這些一樣都是需要我們用心去經營，以細節展示我們對他人的關懷和在乎。

我每天都想改變我的人生。我當然也有怕的時候，也有自信零蛋的時候。但是，我最討厭的就是輸給我自己，我不要有遺憾。

I did that Live in 2017. I met two clients that day, and it was at 1:10am in the middle of the night when I enthusiastically commenced my Live in an empty shopping mall.

After a whole day of work, where did I find that blood-racing energy from?

That was because not long ago, I watched a video of Jackie Chan's lecture from 2013. As I learnt about his story of struggles, my heart was cheering and applauding at his words.

A three-year-old child will have no problem understanding such a simple theory, but do you know that not many people can put that theory into application.

Have you think about this? Most of our family backgrounds are probably similar, and perhaps our education too. But why is that some people can be so far ahead in this race of Life, and some people are so far behind?

In the clients I see, many people lost to their desires, yet even more people are defeated by details and their self-inflated egos, be it in their spiritual cultivation or in their lives.

For so many years, through my writings and videos, I have been relentless in telling this to my readers, clients and students. Because I do not wish for you to get superstitious over Chinese Metaphysics and gloss over the true reason for your failure.

Perhaps after listening to me, you will only think of me as strict and harsh. But have you ever realised that it might be you who do not wish to fight more for your success?

And willingly be hindered by the karmic obstacles, be it people or things around you?

Successful people do not find excuses or rant on Facebook like a fish wife shouting abuse on the street.

They will only look for solutions and humbly learn from a good Master.

Many people only care to study Bazi and Feng Shui, but neglect the Law of Cause and Effect. It is our character that create our Bazi and Feng Shui, not the other way round.

Jackie Chan is a person of great fortune because in his previous lives and current life, he is constantly sowing the seeds of good fortune, benefiting thousands and millions of people. Thus, in his Bazi, he is befitting of a life of great prosperity and Peach Blossom luck.

He is probably the most well-known Chinese, recognised by people of various skin colours all over the world.

Study the real-life doings of Jackie Chan and you will understand how you are not diligent enough in cultivating yourself.

Of course, success isn't just about career and wealth accomplishments. It also include your marriage, family and religion. All these require us to pour our hearts in them, and demonstrate our love and care towards others through the small details.

Every day I am thinking of how to do better in my life. Sure there will be moments of fear and zero confidence. But what I hate most is losing to myself and have regrets.

理論名叫「涵化理論」（Cultivation Theory），是全球最常被引用的社會科學理論之一，來自新聞學，主要研究觀眾沈迷電視節目，會對個人認識社會、世界產生怎樣的影響。研究以「深度電視觀眾」和「輕度電視觀眾」為對比，通過實證分析，發現越是沈迷電視的人，越以為電視傳播的觀點為現實世界的常態。這看似普通常識，但進一步的發現，卻相當警世。例如理論發現深度觀眾普遍對人類缺乏信任，認為所有人的唯一目標就是為私利謀算，所有人都不可信，所以自私自利是應該的，相反輕度觀眾則認為人性有可信一面，世界不一定充滿負能量，也有真善美。根據同一觀察，深度觀眾無論是老人、成人還是小童，都比輕度觀眾更崇尚物質主義，而深度觀眾習慣了高度戲劇化的新聞和劇情，也比輕度觀眾更充滿性別歧視，乃至有更多的性想像。

至於電視和國際關係直接相關的影響，還在於世界觀。深度觀眾相信，世界充滿暴力，相信武力是解決問題的方式，而他們認知的暴力普遍程度，相對於現實世界的數字，自然是大大誇張；相反輕度觀眾對衡量暴力在現實世界的角色，則準確得多。海灣戰爭期間，深度觀眾普遍接受了過份單一的訊息，不了解戰爭的來龍去脈和潛在影響，不像輕度觀眾反而有更全面的認知。結果深度觀眾普遍支持以戰爭、暴力解決一切問題，結果又是和輕度觀眾相反。

這研究尚有不少細節值得探討，但畢竟那已經是2004年的理論，現在我們更關注的，自然是類似觀察在互聯網、社交媒體、人工智能操作的「新聞」網站身上，是否同樣適用。可惜至今似乎未有同樣大規模的研究，完全量化探討這課題，不過不少小規模分析早已出現。從目前觀察，互聯網上的同一效應，只有倍之，即使我們不使用大數據公司幫助，自己也能做實驗。不妨以那些經常在政治平台留言的用戶為研究目標，無論持哪些立場，他們的留言都不存在溝通，基本上沒有接收能力，只是圍爐取暖，同時對負能量的分享情有獨鍾，那些色情暴力、私隱醜聞一類內容，更是最愛。

和傳統媒體相比，社交媒體的「涵化效應」很可能嚴重得多，因為社交媒體的演算式並非純粹人為，而是根據機械學習催生，本來人類已經有的習性，只會變本加厲，乃至被刻意放大，結果「每日一點負能量」一類專頁居然成為主流。而被影響的用戶，又會比傳統電視觀眾更少選擇權，因為根據網絡演算式，他們根本沒有機會看到其他內容；網絡同一內容的程度，例如色情暴力和荒誕陰謀論，又只會比Fox News一類媒體「去得更盡」。沈迷社交媒體的用戶，不但更可能支持戰爭，當網戰成了戰爭模式之一，更可能直接鼓吹、參與未來之戰，從而直接影響大局。那時候，我們可能發現「涵化理論1.0」的電視世界，已經相當溫和；「涵化理論」2.0的網絡世界，才是平行時空所在。
