While looking at pictures from my anniversary, there were many moments that I got teary.
And this was one of the reasons.
Photos of our dear friend, @rizsunawan.
I spoke to him to him on the Sunday before he got admitted into ICU.
And I never told him on the phone how his raspy voice which breaks down so often in our interview broke my heart.
The Riz Sunawan so well-known for his deep manly voice on the radio.
During the conversation, he pauses every now and then, to get a drink and to get his energy up just to be able to talk in short sentences.
I spoke over, and filled in the spaces whenever paused and he said this,
“Bagus Kau Fiza. Pandai kau cakap.”
And I kept quiet for 10 seconds. Because I covered my microphone so he won’t hear me crying at that statement. I came back to the phone and said cheerfully, “Come on! It’s just my job. You know you are so good at this! It’s just that you are tired now.”
I’m holding back my tears as I’m typing this recalling how Riz’s muscles are getting weaker by the day. To the point now that even when he talks it takes a huge amount of strength 😭.
Semoga Allah swt always give you the strength and courage you have always shown us throughout your sickness and journey.
