Today is the first day of our 2-step move back to Phase 3 (Heightened Alert), with restrictions eased and some activities resumed. It is also 端午节, the Dragon Boat Festival or Dumpling Festival. The dragon boat races and glutinous rice dumplings are cultural practices that commemorate the life of historical Chinese patriot Qu Yuan. We might not have our big races this year, but we can still enjoy rice dumplings at home with friends and family.
