"I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys r' Us kid."
I have fond memories of @silasmlee taking us to Toys R Us as a kid. Everytime we drove by the freeway offramp my siblings and I would chant to get off. Usually we were disappointed, but occasionally it would happen and we'd get to wander the aisles in search of that toy under $15. He would go himself to line up as well to find those rare Power Ranger toys when I was a teen. As an adult, I still collect and buy toys, as it's part of an imagination and world my dad helped to foster. I still haven't grown up.
This is when I took him to Toys R Us back in 2011 when I briefly moved home before coming to Taiwan. We went quite a few times actually, but this time I was driving. For awhile after I left, he would stop in to continue looking for things I was collecting and would send me snaps via WhatsApp.
RIP Toys R Us. I'll visit you here in Taiwan as much as I can afford to.
