Having one of the best Saturdays ever!
Laundry 🧺 Floors 🧹 Kitchen 🥣 and now it’s me-time with @technogym.malaysia bike.
I’ve had such a great time with this bike, clocking kms further than I thought I’d ever enjoy. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with long distances but after the 20km mark, it’s like I get my second wind and it’s fascinating what the body can do when your mind is focused.
This #technogymbike can really do wonders. It’s so solid so you feel safe and all the features that come along with it is phenomenal, I love to watch Netflix and break out a sweat at the same time. Give the team a buzz and you can use “Sarah10” to get an additional discount off your entire cart!

=================================
1) Wrong person to ask(聞く相手を間違えているよ)
=================================
一般的には“You’re asking the wrong person.”
<例文>
I’m terrible with computers. You’re asking the wrong person.
I’ve never studied abroad so I don’t know what it’s like. You’re asking the wrong person.
I failed the Eiken three times in a row. I can’t give you any advice. You’re asking the wrong the person.
=================================
2) Hype(誇大に宣伝する、話題となっている)
=================================
「〜は大々的に宣伝されている / 〜について大騒ぎしている」は「There is a lot of hype about/surrounding ____」、「〜は期待通り凄い」は「____ live up to the hype」と言います。
<例文>
There’s been a lot of hype about the new ramen shop that opened up by the train station.
That movie was awful. It didn’t live up to the hype.
Shohei Ohtani is the real deal. He lived up to the hype.
=================================
3) Train(〜
=================================
正式にはjump on the hype trainやjump on the bandwagonと表現し、話題になっているものに乗っかることを意味します。
<例文>
People are quick to jump on the hype train.
He’s not a true Dodgers fan. He just jumped on the bandwagon because they won last year.
Demon Slayer is super popular in Japan. Everyone jumped on the Demon Slayer train.
=================================
4) For a second(ちょっと)
=================================
<例文>
Can you hang tight for a sec? I’ll be right back.
I thought I mixed up the time for a sec.
Do you have a second? I need to talk to you about something.
=================================
5) Catch up(追いつく)
=================================
<例文>
I have to catch up on some work this weekend.
I’ve finally caught up on Demon Slayer. I binge-watched all the episodes yesterday.
I’m a little behind on my studies. I need to catch up.

The difference between APR and APY
A lot of people here are staking their crypto, so I assume most of you have encountered these terms before, but a lot of people don't really understand the difference between the two. As such I thought I would explain the difference as simply as possible.
**APR = Annual Percentage Rate**
This is the amount you can approximately expect the initial amount of money to get in interest over one year. For example, if you staked $1000 worth of ETH and got an APR of 6%, you would expect to have about $1,060 by the end of the year:
$1000 x (1.06) = $1060
However, this is assuming that you only get one payment at the end of the year of $60 for a year's worth of interest, and we all know that by staking crypto, you get payments more often than that. Some get interest payments every week, or even every day. Now let's assume you receive interest payments daily. The amount of interest you get every day is the APR divided by 365, since there are 365 days in a year. So your daily interest rate is:
6%/365 days = 0.01643836% every day in interest
So after one day, you will have:
$1000 x (1 + 0.06/365) = $1,000.16438
Now, on the second day, it will give you the same 0.01643836% in daily interest, but it won't use the $1000 you put in initially, it will give you interest based on how much you currently have staked, which is now $1,000.16438 after one day. So after you get your interest payment on the second day, you will have:
$1,000.16438 x (1 + 0.06/365) = $1,000.32879
It will then use the number you have after two days to calculate the interest you will receive for the third day. Notice how every day, the amount of money you have is increasing, and as a result the amount of money you receive in interest increases every day. This is called *compound interest*, and that's where APY comes in.
**APY = Annual Percentage Yield**
This is the amount of interest you receive in a year taking into account compound interest. In other words, this is the how much interest you will receive taking into account you will be getting payments throughout the year. So if you have an APR like we said of 6%, and you receive interest payments daily, your APY is calculated as such:
APY = (1 + 0.06/365)^365 - 1 = 6.18313106779%
So in one year, you're actually getting 6.18313106779% in interest, not just the 6% that the APR said you were getting. So after one year you would have:
$1000 x (1.0618313106779) = $1,061.83
**To Sum Up**
Amount you will have after one year according to APR:
$1060
Amount you will have after one year according to APY:
$1,061.83
As you can see the numbers are not the same. APY just gives you a more accurate indicator as to how much you can expect to receive in interest by the end of the year.
**So which is better: 6% APR or 6% APY?**
If you noticed, the percentage I calculated in APY is higher than the percent APR said you would be getting:
6% APR = 6.18313106779% APY (with daily payments)
So, if you have the option to choose between 6% APR and 6% APY with the same frequency of payments in a year (in this case daily payments), always choose 6% APR, since that comes out to be higher than 6% APY.

Why go to Matsumoto? All the things I was planning to do on my cancelled Japan trip in Nagano prefecture and the Japanese alps!
A new series sharing places from my Japan wishlist, to give you ideas for places to go and introduce things to do in Japan you might not have thought of, and hidden spots away from the usual tourist destinations. Here's why I wanted to go to Matsumoto, and all the things you can do on day trips around Nagano prefecture, including Matsumoto Castle, artwork by Yayoi Kusama, Daio Wasabi Farm, cycling in Azumino with views of the Japanese alps, hiking in the mountains in Kamikochi, the amazing snow walls of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route and Lake Suwa (from the anime film Your Name!). I've also included some train passes you can get for the area, including the JR East Pass I was going to use.

Too many big dreams, too many failures, too many disappointments despite all the achievements in life will give us at least a little impact even if we don't put it into our head.
For me, all of these disappointments gives me huge anxiety. I am always worried about my future. I am always unhappy though I have too many great projects to work with.
These projects that I am working on are my achievements yet I am still thinking about the things that I didn't achieve and adding more anxiety in my life.
I couldn't figure things out. Why on earth I am feeling like this? Is it me or am I really a loser who achieved nothing in life?
I started reading a lot as usual so I can gain some insights about myself.
What I found gave me temporary relief and it created a path to the permanent solution.
Gratitude.
I was working with amazing brands like Loreal, Shopee and Guardian yet I was so dissatisfied. It is because I wasn't being grateful for what happened.
I wasn't thanking the moment that happened to me. I knew long ago that I was lacking empathy. Gratitude too? Perplexed.
Then I took a second to myself and thought, "what on earth is gratitude? How on earth I do it?"
Well, honestly I am still working on my gratitude skills. Yet, I feel so much better than before and so much confident than ever.
Especially with the recession that is happening, I need my confidence the most right now.
How to show gratitude?
Things will go wrong cause somehow life is full of ups and downs. Rather than complaining and feeling low, you can start seeing the positivity behind each problem.
Lost your job? Maybe, this is the time for you to explore yourself and get a better opportunity in life. Be grateful that it happened.
Quarantined and bored? Maybe, this is the time to start the blog you was always talking about *Learn how to start a blog with me (One to one online class). Hehehehe.
Maybe it is time to start your novel? Maybe its time to start the online business that you have always dreamed off.
All the things that have happened in your life, be thankful and show them your gratitude. Say thanks for each small help you're getting. Start looking at the other side of a coin and appreciate it.
Believe that everything happens for a good reason and God will never give a challenge that you can't handle.
Your perception about a lot of things will change and you will start having only good energy around when you start seeing everything with a grateful mind.
Remember creating a positive vibe is important. Showing gratitude makes you have so much positive energy within you and it gives you the courage to move on in life with great strength.
