It's been 6 beautiful months with this little one. Where did all that time go?
Layla, you bring so much joy and love to those around you. Since you came along, our house have never felt more like a home. After a long, tiring day at work, all we want is to rush back home as soon as we can. Thank you for always welcoming us with your wide toothless smile that brighten our hearts. Thank you for being such a great team player. Whenever i change a new routine, you'll always adjust and adapt successfully within a few days. I love your spirit and enthusiasm, especially so with food. It's been so fun coming up with recipes for you, because i know you'll communicate with me very clearly with your dramatic expression on your likes and dislikes! Your voice is the most angelic sound i have ever heard, even when it's going at 3 in the morning. I love your cute little quirks, like when I'm feeding you, you'll hold my thumb and bring it to your thighs and do the patting motion to ask me to pat you! Showering you is one of the highlights of my day. You've loved showering from Day 1, so it's a lot of fun showering you cos you're full of smiles!
Everything beautiful aside, you're of cos just like any baby. Your reward to me for your half year birthday is waking up every 2-3 for the last few nights crying in vain. It could be growth spurt or teething. Who knows. All i know is you're feeling clingy and needy, and i want you to know that i am right here with you.
We love you so much sweetheart. Words can't express how much we love you. But we know you know it and you feel it too, bcos you reciprocate it in your sweet little gestures that melt our hearts.
Happy 6 months old my darling.
Thank you for choosing us.

TLDR: #Breastfeeding is still (insert expletive) hard now, because Jude throws up like the Merlion frequently.
I’m writing this at 11:43pm, craving sleep so bad, but still sitting up in bed holding Jude against my chest in the hope that he will sleep deep enough so I can put him down on the bed without waking him. Just about 20 minutes ago, he threw up like the Merlion (again) while I tried to nurse him to sleep in bed. I feel like a failure every time this happens. Why can’t I stop him before he throws up? Why can’t I soothe him any other way besides nursing? Why do I have a fast letdown that causes him to gulp down too much milk too fast? Why do I suck at this bf (insert expletive) so bad?
And then, this smile. He flashes me this exact smile after throwing up. No fussing, no crying. It’s like “Ah Mama thanks for over-feeding me till I threw up, now I feel better!”
So, if you are in a similar situation, with a 11-week old baby who is breastfed and needs to nurse every 2 hours, and on top of that needs to comfort nurse in between, and on top of that you have a fast letdown and possible oversupply (I overdid the breastmilk boost), know that you are not alone.
Here are some things I’ve learnt on my bf journey so far that is totally in contrast to what the internet told me:
1) You CAN overfeed a breastfed baby. Because that’s what’s happening to me and Jude. He vomits or spits up a lot at least once a day, but he’s delivering good diaper output and putting on weight.
2) Some websites claim you never have to unlatch a baby; babies will know when they are full and unlatch themselves. Not true. Jude will nurse and nurse all day if I let him, or until he throws up like the Merlion. And no, it’s not a growth spurt. Because it’s every. single. day.
3) Some websites also claim that by 2 months, babies can sleep “through the night” or “in stretches of 4-6 hours”. They also claim that around the same time babies can go longer in between nursing. Not true. Because Jude is at 11 weeks and he still nurses every 2 hours, 3 at best, sometimes hourly. Even in the night.
Ok I shall now try to put Jude down in bed. Wish me luck. #breastfeedingjourney

I’ve been getting a whole lot of attention lately about my thick, voluminous locks & I’ve decided I would be doing y’all (ladies AND gents included) a disservice if I did not let you in on HOW I got my new-found thick & lush hair.
I was born with very fine hair & everyone who knew me in my high school years can vouch for me when I tell you that I was forever complaining that I have SUPER LITTLE hair. Heck, even my hairstylists from a few years ago have noticed the vast difference in the thickness of my hair! I kid you not, I have not had this much hair in mah life!!
Here are the list of changes I did to my lifestyle & hair care in the last 2 years (1 year ago was when I saw the difference):
1. I turned vegetarian 2.5 years ago (July 2018). Perhaps eating a plant-base diet indirectly decreased my consumption of sodium & that might be a factor since high consumption of sodium does lead to hair loss.
2. 2 years ago, I completed 2 courses (2 bottles) of “PILFOOD” by BioLife, as per recommended by my family doctor. PILFOOD has since been discontinued, replaced by an improved formula called “REVITIZ” & according to some of my friend’s testimonies based on my recommendation, they’ve seen very positive results (from men AND women alike). For me, after a month of consumption, I noticed a lot of baby hair growth. If you’re concerned about hair growth in other parts of your bodies, I can assure you it did not happen for me; so you ought to be safe 😂 Now for maintenance, I am taking Omega-7 from Seabuckthorn Oil supplements by “SEABUCK WONDERS” for my hair AND skin!
3. I visit @makeoverhairsalon every month for a monthly treatment to keep my scalp cleansed (you have no idea the gunk we accumulate with the pollution in an urban city) and hair follicles constantly moisturized. I believe that nourishing my hair from the outside too could have a significant impact on the life span of my hair.
People around me are still perplexed at how I had a sudden spurt of hair growth!! Hope my testimony would be helpful to those of you who have hair woes, I totally know feel you, so I hope you are able to stay consistent and strong in your choices to a healthier lifestyle! 加油!!

Baby is sleeping fighting his sleep and sleeping on off hours. Not sure what's going on but maybe he's going through a growth spurt at 6 months? He's been doing really well with his eating but his pooping has slowed down. I guess the solids are keeping it in. Hoping it'll pass and he'll continue to thrive!

Home with my babies and it seems like he's still my small munchkin but at the same time growing big as well! Very strange. He's definitely my little piglet that squeals all the time. Good to be back home spending quality time with my baby. Time will pass so fast with a blink on an eye and baby will be a grown man!

Googled cluster feeding to see how long it'll last and some say it's 2-4 days and others say it's a few weeks. I guess we'll have to hang in there and conquer it! Getting on baby's sleeping schedule has been brutal and my hubby is still trying to adjust and not get frustrated. It's a major change since he loves his sleep but he has to deal since this is what he wanted. Time to step up!
