What matters in Dentistry? Wait, let me rephrase.
What matters in EVERY field?
During our studies we were trained to develop skills. To troubleshoot. To make sure the theories in our brain can help us to solve that problem in our future job.
Everyone came out to the society with a similar set of skills and knowledge.
Now, if everyone is almost equal, what set us apart? Looks? Background?
Yes they might play a role. But what most forgotten is “Human Connection”.
Let me give an example.
The first thing I always ask my patient when I first saw them is: How are you?
It seemed simple, insignificant even. But I still think it is one of the most important thing to ask.
Genuinely caring about a person as a whole, not just treating the person’s disease, is so important in health professional.
In fact, genuinely caring about anyone who is under your care, is important in every field.
I would easily choose a restaurant with a server who gives me a glass of water on a hot day although I didn’t ask for it.
I would easily choose a hairdresser who simply remembers my name although I only go for a haircut once in a while.
Similarly, I always try to imagine what kind of dentist my patients would want to see, and try to be one. Tho I’m not perfect, there are probably still patients who are afraid to see me😂, but I try my best to improve everyday. Be it in person or on social media.😊
If you’re a dentist and wanted to learn more on how I manage my clinical & social media works, do check out my live session on this coming Wednesday (20/1/21) 9pm with Dental Genesis Network DGN ,DM them for more!
See you there and good luck to all of you!🤗

So your skin does tell your health condition!
What is your skin telling you?
<3 FACE MAPPING ZONES <3
Your skin can tell you many things about what is happening throughout your body. Its amazing how interconnected everything is. There are different “zones” that are related to certain functions of your body. When a certain part of your body is not functioning properly you will often times see the results as a breakout in that specific zone of your face. Knowing your “zones” can help you pin point and treat the cause of breakouts, prevent them in the future and heal them quicker; resulting in a healthier body and healthier skin.I hope this is helpful and preventive
* Yellow eyes: issues with the liver (liver jaundice)
* Gum infections: issues with the intestines
* Swollen under-eyes: issues with the kidneys
* Forehead acne: issues with the digestive system
* Breakouts on the chin: hormonal imbalances
* Swollen cheeks: can tell you that you might have an under active thyroid
* Dark under-eye circles: while mostly hereditary sometimes can signify issues related to the kidneys. quick tip: sometimes dehydration causes dark under-eye circles so drink up and figure out what is the exact amount of water your body requires (each body requires a specific amount).
Here are the face mapping zones and their correlation to the different functions of your body. Enjoy!
(y) Zones – Forehead
Traditionally, this zone is regarded as the “sister” to the bladder and digestive system. If you breakout frequently in this area, it might mean that you need to improve your elimination by drinking more water and eating more “whole” foods.
(y) Zone – Mid Forehead
The middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows, is related to the liver. Congestion in this zone can indicate over consumption of alcohol, rich foods, and possibly a food allergy (such as lactose intolerance).
(y) Zones – Ears
The ears are a highly sensitive area related to the kidneys. If you notice that your ears are very hot, you might be stressing them out – drink plenty of plain water and cut down on caffeine and alcohol.
(y) Zones – Cheeks
The cheeks often give an accurate glimpse into any respiratory distress. Smokers or people suffering from allergies generally experience fine, broken capillaries or congestion in this area.
(y) Zones – Eyes
The eyes are truly a window to the body’s health because they’re related to the kidneys. Dark circles , while often hereditary, are made worse by dehydration and poor elimination.
(y) Zone – Nose & Upper lip
A reddened nose can indicate heightened blood pressure, or the early stages of rosacea. Congestion around the upper lip can occur if you use comedogenic lipsticks or liners.
(y) Zones – Jaw Line
If you’ve had extensive dental surgery done, you might notice a breakout along the jaw line, near the ears. Extreme stress can also cause your adrenal glands to overproduce creating breakouts in this zone.
(y) Zone – Chin
Breakouts or unusual hair growth can indicate hormonal imbalance, possibly caused by extreme stress. Premenstrual breakouts are also very common around the chin.
