Celebration of the Father
“Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem. They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened. While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?” One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?” He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?” Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?” They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”” (Luke 24:13-18, 25-27, 32-34 WEB)
Did you ever wonder why out of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, only one of them was named while the other remained anonymous?
Therefore, I believe that the name “Cleopas” is crucial to understanding the significance of this passage.
Cleopas is an abbreviated form of the name Cleopatros, made of the two Greek words “kleos” (to celebrate) and pater (father). Cleopas means “celebration of the father”.
Let us see what Jesus did in the passage. He told the two discouraged disciples all about the things concerning Himself in the Old Testament Scriptures, and how He fulfilled them all at the cross.
It was a celebration of the Father, praising Him for His glorious plan of salvation that was once hidden and is now revealed through the prophets, apostles, and the other writers of the Scriptures.
When Jesus celebrated the Father with the two disciples, their hearts “burned”, likely with faith, hope, and love in response to the love and grace of God. They experienced an “Emmaus” (meaning: hot springs) in their hearts, washing away the unbelief and refreshing their spirits.
They were no longer depressed and despondent. Instead, they were filled with hope, and energized in their bodies and souls. Having just walked a long way from Jerusalem to Emmaus, they immediately set off on a journey back to announce the good news they had seen and heard.
This world needs “Cleopas”—a celebration of the Father. They need to hear about a Father God who is gracious and full of love, who freely offers salvation through Jesus Christ His Son. They need to hear that He wants to be a Father near to them and not a Judge far off; that He is reconciling the world to Himself through Jesus, welcoming them home.
“But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-21 WEB)
Anytime you are feeling down, you can initiate a celebration of the Father. It will cleanse you from unbelief, refresh your spirit, fill your heart with hope, and energize your body and soul!

Receive Divine, Sinless Life Through the Lord’s Supper
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life. Therefore I have said to the children of Israel, “No person among you may eat blood, nor may any stranger who lives as a foreigner among you eat blood.”” (Leviticus 17:11-12 WEB)
Even under the New Covenant, according to the letter that the apostles wrote to the ex-Gentile believers, we are instructed by the Holy Spirit to abstain from eating blood.
“For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things: that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”” (Acts 15:28-29 WEB)
God does not want us to feed on life that has been stained by sin.
There is only one person’s blood that we are told to drink:
“Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”” (John 6:53-58 WEB)
Many of Jesus’ ‘disciples’ left Him after hearing the words in the passage above. The Law said that the children of Israel were forbidden from eating blood. No wonder they found it difficult to believe that drinking Jesus’ blood was actually a godly thing to do.
The blood of Jesus is full of His divine, sinless life. Every time you partake of the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of His death at the cross, you receive a fresh infusion of His life.
The more you receive His blood this way, the more your soul and body will live.
This is not just heavenly food like manna—it is the very life of God.
Don’t rush through the Lord’s Supper. It is not like popping a pill, a mathematical formula, or a magical incantation.
The Lord’s Supper is a token of Jesus’ love for you. He has designed it such that every time you partake of it in a worthy manner, you receive His life. Enjoy the moment.
How much do you want to live and be full of life? Receive the blood of Jesus every day through the Lord’s Supper, and watch as health and healing springs forth mightily in your soul and body!

Our Willing and Generous Abba God
“He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’ and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’? I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”” (Luke 11:5-13 WEB)
Why do we need to be persistent in prayer when God is so willing to give good gifts to us?
God does everything under Heaven according to appointed times and seasons—a system of divine order.
While you are waiting for the time to arrive, He will prepare your heart and mouth to come into alignment with His plans, believing and speaking those things into manifestation.
So we pray persistently not because God is reluctant, but rather we are preparing ourselves for God’s appointed times and seasons.
Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking…until the appointed time of deliverance arrives.
“But I’ve been praying for years and nothing has changed!” This statement shows unbelief. Sometimes people pray one thing and confess another. They declare they believe God has healed them but they complain to others how they are feeling so sick and in pain. The apostle James said that a double-minded man who does not ask in faith cannot expect to receive anything from God.
Is the manifestation not here yet? That means the appointed time has not arrived yet, so keep on praying. Abraham was promised a son, but it was only many years later that the fulfillment happened. I am not saying that your manifestation will take years, but there is a right time that only God knows.
In the meantime while you are waiting, meditate on the passage above and get a sense of how generous Abba God is towards you. He loves you and supplies your good heart’s desires through His Spirit.
If an unwilling friend will reluctantly give you what you keep asking for because of your persistence, then all the more Abba God will exceedingly and abundantly answer your prayer requests. Believe this and wait for the appointed time!
Learn how to flow with God’s system of times and seasons by which He plans every purpose under Heaven. You will experience unceasing fruitfulness and restful increase when you apply the revelations in “God’s Appointed Time”:

「Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the spirit of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already. Ye are of God, my little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they as of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he who is not of God heareth us not. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us: hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father hath sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God. And we know and have believed the love which God hath in us. God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God abideth in him. Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, even so are we in this world. There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath punishment; and he that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, cannot love God whom he hath not seen. And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also.」

Did you know that you can limit God in your life? Sometimes we can forget that it's not our own faith that makes things happen, but God Himself – the One with unlimited power.
What's more, in the Bible, when the father of the demon-possessed boy asked Jesus for help, Jesus told him "If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes." (see Mk. 9:22-23). Friend, the question is not "Can I believe God for this?", but rather "Can Jesus believe God for this?"
The faith you live by is not your own, but Jesus' faith. Don’t limit God to your limited imagination. As you put your faith in the One who believes God for your situation, there is absolutely nothing that He cannot do!
Can we get an "Amen" if you're putting your faith in our unlimited God today?
