Stop serving it ffs. This is not about mollycoddling people's feelings, this is actual life and death. Who the fuck cares about peanuts anyway. Replace with chips and anyone will be happy.
The comments are truly disgusting. I have a friend who has a daughter (very brilliant and sweet girl) who is severely allergic to nuts. When I meet him he cannot even eat ice cream that has nuts in it in case the nuts linger in his breath or something and affects his daughter when he goes home. Maybe most people think a nut allergy is something very mild like it causes a rash or something... but it's not; it can literally kill a child.
I think most parents who have kids with severe allergies feel very ashamed that they have to inconvenience other people but what can they do? Forbid their child from ever traveling or going to any public place? So this kid can never go to Disneyland or visit a grandparent overseas?
A baby who never had an allergy known (and therefore parents don't have an epipen with them) might actually die from you eating nuts on the flight.
Don't compare it to other allergies like pollen or what not and saying you have to give in to more and more idiotic allergies. It's not the same, the other allergies don't cause DEATH.
You guys know me and I'm the last fucking person to say "have some compassion" but this time i am saying it. Have some fucking compassion.
It's somebody's life at stake and guess what this toddler could be your kid, your little niece or nephew asphyxiating and swelling up before your eyes, unable to breathe, dying because of you refusing to give up eating... free nuts.
Food that's literally so cheap and easily available that it's used as a metaphor for cheap payment. Go eat it in your own free time ffs.
This is pretty serious. The cause of the peanut allergic reaction was due to the opening of multiple packets of peanuts by the other passengers. The whiff of peanuts in the cabin air was reportedly strong enough to have caused it.
