Anna Idli - A South Indian delight
There are some places which attract us just by their looks and Anna Idli was one of them. As we were just passing by the bustling street of Baner, we happened to spot this restaurant which looked like a out door seating restaurant with aesthetic ambience from its outer looks. We put it on our wishlist and planned to visit it soon.
We were in Baner a few days ago and we were looking for an eat out where we could have some light snacks and we decided to explore Anna Idli.
We were mesmerised by the ambience no sooner we stepped into this place. It looked like one of those authentic homes of Chennai. The place is lit with beautiful antique lamps and the whole place is actually decorated keeping in mind the architecture of ancient Chennai. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and we chose the outdoor seating without a second thought 😊 This explains my love for outdoor seating restaurant. The benches and tables at the outdoor seating area were granite based and looked aesthetic. There was this fragrance of the incense sticks lingering around and it was so blissful.
Let's talk food now 😀 We were two of us so we ordered one plate Idli Sambar and a Rava Idli. The idli was soft enough and the taste of sambar was authentic south Indian. The chutney too was quite good. We ordered an Onion Utappa as well. The Utappa was crisp and well roasted just like how we wanted it. We couldn't resist the aroma of filter coffee and we had to order one. The smell of coffee itself is so so awesome that it's hard to hold on. The aroma the taste the flavour everything was just fantastic. It was a great experience and the ambience added more value to the place.
It is a great place for breakfast on a lazy weekend and the atmosphere in the evening is equally pleasant 😊 I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are up for some authentic South Indian delicacies. The cost for two would be around 250.
