SHOULD YOU QUIT YOUR JOB NOW?
“You have to help me quit my job!”
Even though the video was off, I could tell from Bria’s voice that she was in tears. This strong woman couldn’t keep herself together anymore.
“You’re experiencing strong emotions now. That’s very natural,” I said, wanting to help her feel safe and accepted.
After all, Bria and I had only met once in an event. Knowing that I was a coach, she reached out the next day to see if I could help.
If there’s anything I’ve learned from my years of coaching, it’s that when the person is emotional, you need to give them the space to feel it.
So as Bria sobbed, I stayed silent, feeling my belly rise and fall with each breath. After a short while, I could sense that her wave of emotion had passed.
“Shall we take one long easy breath together?” I asked.
I heard her breathing with me. I paused, allowing Bria the time to settle, then I asked her to tell me what’s so difficult to her about her job.
After listening to her sharing, I said: “I can definitely help you, Bria.” I heard a sigh of relief on the other end. “But only if you promise me you won’t quit your job yet.”
3 months after that conversation, Bria waltzed in my office one evening holding a bottle of red wine: “Let’s celebrate!”
She had a giddy grin on her face, the very special grin with a dimple that I’d come to love after many hours supporting her. “Oh! Is it okay for us to drink a glass of wine in our coaching session?” She asked.
I laughed: “Of course. What are we celebrating?”
Bria said, her face brightened even more: “I just realized today that I have the perfect job!”
The most fascinating thing about this story is that the “perfect job” she referred to was the exact same job she had practically begged me to help her quit.
Bria’s circumstances hadn’t changed. But her experiences of the circumstances had changed 180 degrees. Why? Because she did.
Bria’s story teaches me once again, that life is truly created from the inside out.

'Urban Folly – Robot Stillness' takes place in a dark corner with a flat, square mat on the floor next to a black mannequin. From her head, while we go past cheek bones and neck, we see buildings growing down the mannequin as if they are electric wires following a fractal search path until they fade into the black at the bottom. Rather abstract, done in chromium paint, one wonders would it look like dripping wet hair or the roots of an electric tree under the city?
On the head of the mannequin is a headband with a pico-projector mounted on it. It projects the painting Urban Folly, the counterpart of the neon sign with the same name. A robot drawn after the buildings fades in and out so that the buildings very slowly become the robot, which becomes the buildings, which become the robot, which… While playing, the pico-projector speaks a poem about the robot being still inside – a robot knows emotion nor thought – using mock computer commands. The voice is coarse and mechanical.
Visitors are to sit on the mat and put the headband on. They project the image on the wall, aiming between four picture-frame corners, two of which are traditional dragons, the other phoenixes, handcrafted by local artisans. The poem takes six minutes with long pauses and the visitors’ challenge is to keep their heads still to have the projection stay within the frame, which is an exercise to become still inside. Only if the visitor is prepared to pay full attention will the slight differences in the pictures faded in and out be seen...

Abandon Anxiety and Pray Powerfully
“In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)
Anxiety comes from keeping your problems and trying to solve it yourself.
That’s why Paul taught us to pray and give thanks in everything. That is handing your problem to God and letting Him supply the solution.
No wonder you’ll have the supernatural peace of God. The burden is lifted from your shoulders and the peace assures you that God Himself is handling the matter!
“Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out; for the man will not rest until he finishes the matter today.” (Ruth 3:18 AMPC)
Sometimes the hardest thing to do in an urgent situation is to sit still. It takes faith!
But that’s what the follow-up action to prayer should be. Like Ruth, you told your heavenly Boaz your request, now let Him finish the matter for you.
Jesus will not rest until it’s settled. He is eager to help you and He never gets tired anyway!
If you pray and you’re still worrying, panicking and speaking like you’re doomed, it’s as good as not praying. You don’t really believe that God will help you.
Don’t rush the process of praying. There’s no point stating your request when you only see a vision of defeat in your heart.
For children of God, the victory happens from the inside out. Not outside in.
To change your outward circumstances, God often changes what you believe on the inside first.
It’s the inside that controls and changes what you eventually see on the outside.
Picture the desired outcome clearly in your mind’s eye, vividly with as much emotion and details as possible.
What does it smell, look, taste, feel, sound like? Even walk around the scene and view it from all angles.
Notice more details and make it seem so real. Using faith, you’re building the substance of things hoped for.
Do it until you’re filled with hope and expectancy in the Lord. When you reach this state, then pray in faith!

Lyrics:
I stayed in school for you
I could’ve left you all alone
I broke the rules for you
Cause what’s a king without a throne
I kept my cool when things got heated just to try to survive
Yeah
I’m not going home with you
Now that I’ve seen the light
A couple feet away
But you left me here to cry
And I
Keep on running from my demons till they eat me alive
But you know that
I’m not that into you
You would know
I had the world to lose
And let it go
Got all these scars to prove
I was wrong
And I’ll admit the truth
I was young
So don’t take it personal
If you really love me let me go
Left my regret on the mantle
Sitting next to the alcohol
Let your blood flow out your veins
Let me re-route all your brain
Don’t you realize how you hurt me
Who are you to overwork me
So don’t take it personal
Like an ocean we move with the tides
no emotion now I’m feeling lost inside
I can’t forgive you starring with those helpless eyes
How do you sleep comfortably at night on that bed of lies
And I’m fighting for myself tonight
Fighting just to make things right
Tryna’ make you understand
Know this isn’t what we planned
But
If were keeping it real
Then you know how I feel and
It’s breaking me down because
I’m not that into you
You would know
I had the world to lose
And let it go
Got all these scars to prove
I was wrong
And I’ll admit the truth
I was young
So don’t take it personal
If you really love me let me go
Left my regret on the mantle
Sitting next to the alcohol
Let your blood flow out your veins
Let me re-route all your brain
Don’t you realize how you hurt me
Who are you to overwork me
So don’t take it personal
You know that what you’re doing here ain’t right
You know that I’m a victim to your crime
But your moving on from me
In the end it’s plain to see
That I’m sorry doesn’t cut it all the time

Ferry Corsten - Blueprint is out now!
Download & stream at http://flashover.choons.at/blueprinta...
It’s been said that “space exploration is a force unto itself”, a statement that can aptly be applied to the experience of music discovery. A purveyor of a music with that timeless quality, Ferry Corsten actioned himself into taking his own artist exploration deeper with his fifth artist album. Entitled ‘Blueprint’ because of his technical approach to this latest studio outing. This newest longplayer by the Rotterdam native was spawned from an idea to unite the music with a storyline that stretches beyond a nebulous lyrical theme. Combining his love for the art of screenwriting and film score Ferry has crafted ‘Blueprint’ as a concept release to put a wider perspective on his musical vision.
Transcending any referential genre, ‘Blueprint’s storyline centres around two protagonists in Lukas and the extra-terrestrial being Vee. From a discovery to a bond to consciousness to interdimensional travel, ‘Blueprint’ embarks on a journey across the galaxy asking many questions from its listeners.
Encapsulated in the soundtrack is a musical narrative that entwines with a storyboard crafted by the minds of David H Miller (of House Of Cards and Rosewood fame) and Ferry himself. The resulting effort gives the listener a conceptual direction that is breathtakingly beautiful. Narrated by Hollywood actor Campbell Scott (known for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Exorcism of Emily Rose), whose voice unravels the mystery of ‘Blueprint’s storyline.
Written into the musical code of the album we learn that from the deepest edges of space ‘The Drum’ can be heard, endlessly repeating, without any understanding as to its reason or purpose. None of the greatest minds on earth nor governmental superpower can decipher its existence. Except one. As the listener journeys from the opening track to the last the album chronicles the voyage of Lukas and Vee as a new world is opened to not just the mind but the heart.
With its opening title track ‘Blueprint’ the album commences in wondrous form straddling euphoria and seduction at its heart, as it shoots for the stars setting up for a cosmic ballet. The atmospherical payoff of ‘Venera (Vee’s Theme)’ is enchantingly uplifting, as listeners have their first encounter with Vee. The vocal of Eric Lumiere adds depth to the character’s arrival with ‘Something To Believe In’ before ‘Edge Of The Skye’, featuring Haliene, ignites an odyssey to ‘A World Beyond’. The weaving metronomic build of ‘Trust’ is industriously rich and perfectly poised for this interstellar exploration. Whilst the otherworldly tones of ‘Lonely Inside’ beam us into the isolation of Space and renders all meaning beyond one emotion, desire. The sentiment on Haliene’s voice pierces through on the tense ‘Piece of You’ before we head into the third act and encounter “The Drum” again on ‘Drum's A Weapon’. The album majestically concludes with the beautiful combo of Haliene & Eric Lumiere on ‘Another Sunrise’ and the ‘Eternity’ with its Shepherd scale-esque splendour.
With the narrative that gives nods to the proses of iconic sci-fi authors such as Jules Verne, Hugo Gernsback and most distinctively HG Wells, whilst sharing familiarities with modern day shows such as The OA, Westworld and retro Sci-fi-fest Stranger Things, ‘Blueprint’ is an explorative piece of work that puts Sci-fi at its interstellar core. A brave and unique studio release from one of the most iconic artists in the electronic scene but Ferry’s attempts with ‘Blueprint’ are simply to bring a wider perspective to the listener, as he aims the album to be inclusive of dimensions of religion, history, ideals and science fiction.

Stand next to me, and let’s take a photograph
In front of this nostalgic scene from our past
Just you and me, strike a pose that makes me laugh
Something silly like you did that day
Up in the sky, bluer than the bluest seas
Clouds make their way, floating carefree on the breeze
Beautiful things grow more beautiful it seems
When admired from further away
Darling, I’m just so happy that you are here with me
Together once more in this place as we promised we would be
And if this emotion welling up inside
Filling me with joy and light
Isn’t love then, baby, I don’t know what love is
So, with all my love, I give you this bouquet
I know it’s a lot, but take it, it’s okay
There’s no special reason -- you don’t need to ask me why
Come on, forget everything for a second
Don’t you laugh at me -- just take it, I’m begging
There’s no need to be shy
Why does today look so much like yesterday?
I saw the road fork in two different ways
Just a small choice, but I floundered just the same
Nothing but my cowardice to blame
I used to think that crying was what I did best
Always leaning on comforting words like a damsel in distress
Time again I chose the path that turned out wrong
Now I know where I belong
After so many mistakes, I’m back here in your arms
Through the changing seasons and all of time
No matter where I go, this heart of mine
Always circles ‘round and finds its way right back to you
Why would I waste time dreaming of ideal lives
When you’re here beside me smiling in real life?
There’s no purer happiness
*Violet, indigo, black and blue
Flame, yellow, purple, sky blue
Pink, yellow green, ash, brown...*
Which color flowers should I pick for you?
Through the changing seasons and all of time
No matter where I go, this heart of mine
Always circles ‘round and finds its way right back to you
Through the thick and thin, you let me lean on you
Though I never offered one single thank you
But that stops today
愛をこめて花束を
