"น้ำด่าง น้ำอัลคาไลน์ ไม่ได้รักษาโรค"
กระแสโปรโมทให้ดื่มน้ำอัลคาไลน์ ที่มีค่า pH เป็นด่าง (มากกว่า 7) กลับมาพยายามขายกันอีกแล้วครับ .... มีหลังไมค์แจ้งมาว่า ที่บ้านซื้อเครื่องทำน้ำด่างมาตั้งเครื่องละ 45,000 บาท คนขายอ้างว่าเลือดของเราเป็นกรด ต้องกินน้ำด่างเข้าไป จะได้ไม่เป็นมะเร็ง พร้อมทั้งยกคลิปคำบรรยายของคุณหมอท่านนึงมาประกอบ
แต่ความจริงแล้ว น้ำด่างที่ว่านี้ ไม่ได้ช่วยอะไรร่างกายเรา ให้ไม่เป็นโรคมะเร็งหรือโรคอื่นๆ อย่างที่อ้างกันนะครับ
ร่างกายของเรามีกลไกในการปรับค่าพีเอช หรือค่าความเป็นกรดด่างอยู่แล้ว โดยเลือดของเราจะมีค่าพีเอชอยู่ที่ 7.0-7.4 หรือก็คือเป็นด่างเล็กน้อย ไม่จำเป็นต้องไปกินน้ำด่างเพื่อปรับค่าพีเอชอะไร
ถ้าเราดื่มน้ำธรรมดา หรือแม้แต่น้ำด่างจากเครื่องกรองน้ำที่ว่านี้เข้าไป พอเข้าไปที่กระเพาะ น้ำย่อยในกระเพาะซึ่งมีสมบัติเป็นกรดแก่ จะทำให้น้ำที่ดื่มเข้าไปมีค่าพีเอชที่เป็นกรดตามไปด้วย เพื่อให้การย่อยอาหารเกิดขึ้นได้ (ดังนั้น ถ้าเป็นน้ำด่าง ก็จะทำให้ย่อยอาหารได้ยากขึ้นเปล่าๆ)
จากนั้น เมื่อน้ำเคลื่อนจากกระเพาะไปยังลำไส้ ก็จะผสมกับน้ำย่อยที่ผลิตโดยตับอ่อน ทำให้มันมีสมบัติเป็นด่างขึ้น และเมื่อน้ำถูกดูดซึมกลับสู่กระแสเลือด ค่าพีเอชของเลือดของเราก็จะมีตามปรกติที่ร่างกายต้องรักษาไว้
แต่ในทางกลับกัน ถ้าเลือดของเรามีค่าพีเอชที่เป็นด่างมากเกินกว่าปรกติ ก็จะเกิดภาวะ Metabolic alkalosis ได้ (ปรกติเกิดจากการสูญเสียกรดไปเพราะอาเจียนน้ำย่อยออกมา หรือกินโซเดียมไบคาร์บอเนตเข้าไปมาก) ซึ่งกลายเป็นอันตราย ร่างกายมีอาการชักเกร็งได้
ซ้ำร้าย เคยมีกรณีของคนที่ซื้อน้ำด่างเข้มข้นบรรจุขวด (จริงๆ ก็น้ำขี้เถ้านั่นแหล่ะ) ไปเจือจางดื่มเอง แต่ผสมผิด ทำให้เกิดอันตรายขึ้น จากการที่น้ำด่างไปกัดกร่อนเนื้อเยื่อระบบทางเดินอาหาร ตั้งแต่ปาก หลอดอาหาร กระเพาะ ลำไส้ เป็นแผลรุนแรงได้
สรุปคือ เรื่องน้ำด่างมันเป็นแค่เรื่องหลอกขายของกัน ไม่ได้มีประโยชน์มากมายอย่างที่เขาโฆษณา แถมยังต้องระวังในการดื่มด้วย เช่น ถ้าเป็นคนไข้โรคไต ยิ่งต้องระวังปริมาณแร่ธาตุที่เข้าไปในร่างกายด้วย ไม่งั้นอาจเป็นไตวายได้
