「國民法官法草案」 立院臨時會拚三讀通過
The DPP is pushing a bill to create a "mixed court" system, in which "citizen judges" work with professional judges to produce verdicts in criminal trials, instead of judges deciding independently. Activists protested the bill on Monday, saying Taiwan should adopt a full-fledged jury system, in which citizens decide independently of judges. Lawmakers are soon to deliberate on the third reading of the bill, and it's widely expected to be approved.
立院臨時會力拚三讀通過「國民法官法草案」,年滿23歲,符合相關條件就能成為國民法官,參與重大刑案審判。但民間團體推崇歐美國家的陪審團制,持續在立院前靜坐抗議。民進黨立委周春米表示,陪審制下有罪無罪全由陪審團決定,無法要求陪審團寫判決書,也不會上訴二審來推翻人民判決,並不符合台灣法律基礎。
