#RespetoNaman is a Nationwide Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence. The goal of the project is to spark a sustainable movement across the nation to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence in the Philippines through campaigning for awareness, empowerment, and policy.
As inspired by the global #MeToo, and #TimesUp Movement and Thailand’s #DontTellMeHowToDress Movement, it will focus on bringing the issue into the mainstream and empowering women to rise up against all forms of gender-based violence.
In line with this year's 16-days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, #RespetoNaman will hold a series of events and programs which would include two big forums, an online campaign, and a localized version of the #DontTellMeHowToDress exhibit.
#RespetoNaman is a project of The Office of VP Leni Robredo, UN Women Safe Cities Metro Manila Programme, The Embassy of Sweden in Manila, SPARK Philippines, and Empower; supported by Don'tTellMeHowToDress Thailand, Cindy Sirinya Bishop, BDO Unibank, Sanggunian ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila, OSCI (Office of Social Concern and Involvement of Ateneo de Manila University), and Power Plant Mall.
