One of Ella Grace's favorite games to play at almost 3 years old : memory/matching game!
This one features a travel theme but I narrowed it down to forms of transportation which is also a great way of learning and recognizing.
It originally comes in a box of 56 cards but I find 8-12 cards is a good number to keep their interest and concentration. It is also a lot easier to carry and play in airplanes, trains, in the hotel room, at a restaurant!
I just tuck it in to a coin purse (yay Ju-Ju-Be!) and it is compact fun!
This one is from Chronicle Books (available on Amazon) but my amazing friend Liz has also made some before using cloth squares and fun matching buttons! If you're like me and nowhere near as crafty and can't see, you can also make simple ones together using heavy construction paper and color pencils! Just draw shapes in to match or better yet, make it together w your toddler!
