The high grade oil in important to reduce coking, soot, carbon, varnish and contaminants that will stick rings and accelerate two stroke cylinder wear.
If the cylinder has been honed, take it easy during break in to keep heat from building up and seizing engine.
Sustained high RPM and high speed with wind friction will load the engine thus make allot of heat in the cylinder and piston and may seize or score piston and cylinder.
Short bursts of acceleration then city cruising is good.
The short bursts will put pressure on the rings and help them seat well but not generate too much heat.
With the added performance they might have ported the intake ports or they might have serviced the centrifugal clutch.
You can get performance by changing the weights and springs in the centrifugal clutch and by porting the intake and exhaust.
A larger expansion chamber on the exhaust pipe will help tune the power RPM band.
Upgrading the reeds (just past the carburetor) is an easy way of picking up low end power as well.
There are many ways of making extra power.
