From the beginning of the year: Australia, the Amazon fire and the record high temperatures in the Arctic, to the recent pandemic and the forest fire in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Is this just an accidental ecological disaster? Climate change has been called humankind’s greatest challenge! What can you and I do?

Researchers at Oxford Martin School say that a meat-free diet can reduce greenhouse gases by 63%. You may never have considered the link between veganism and environmentalism, so let's take a look now. Every day, a vegan diet can save:

Australia is a country that I have been yearning to explore. Seeing this mountain fire, the area burned was about 45 Hong Kong and nearly one and a half Taiwan. About 500 million animals were killed and nearly 8,000 koalas were buried in the sea of fire. What a terrible figure 😭

Our home - the earth, has warned us again and again that we cannot just escape by praying every time, without making changes. Otherwise, the melting of ice, global warming , Amazon, Australia fire and other issues will only keep continuing!

We can do more than just pray! Maybe being vegan is the fastest and most effective way to reduce carbon, because the animal agriculture industry is the biggest culprit in global warming, producing nearly one-fifth of the world's greenhouse gases, surpassing all cars, boats, planes, trains, etc.

There is NO Planet B.

2. Reduce the purchase of imported products (regardless of supplies or food) and use locally produced products

The River Torrens /ˈtɒrənz/ is the most significant river of the Adelaide Plains and was one of the reasons for the siting of the city of Adelaide, capital of South Australia. The river is also known by its native Kaurna name Karra wirra-parri. The river and its tributaries are highly variable in flow, and together drain an area of 508 square kilometres (196 sq mi). They range from sometimes raging torrents, damaging bridges and flooding city areas, to trickles and completely dry in summer. Winter and spring flooding has prompted the construction of flood reduction works. A constructed sea outlet, landscaped linear parks and three holding reservoirs contain peak flow.
The river's flora and fauna have been both deliberately and accidentally impacted since settlement. In the 19th century, native forests were cleared, gravel removed for construction and many foreign species introduced. With construction of the linear parks, many species native to the river have been replanted, and introduced species have been controlled as weeds. Since European settlement the river has been a frequently touted tourist attraction. During the early years of settlement, the river acted as both the city's primary water source and main sewer, leading to outbreaks of typhus and cholera.

Darling Harbour is a harbour adjacent to the city centre of Sydney. It is also a large recreational and pedestrian precinct that is situated on western outskirts of the Sydney central business district. The locality extends northwards from Chinatown, along both sides of Cockle Bay to King Street Wharf on the east, and to the suburb of Pyrmont on the west. Cockle Bay is just one of the waterways that makes up Darling Harbour, which opens north into the much larger Port Jackson.

Darling Harbour is named after Lieutenant-General Ralph Darling, who was Governor of New South Wales from 1825 to 1831. It was originally part of the commercial port of Sydney, including the Darling Harbour Railway Goods Yard. During the Great Depression, the eastern part of Darling Harbour (Barangaroo) became known as The Hungry Mile, a reference to the waterside workers searching for jobs along the wharves.

Much of the land had been the site of the NSW Railways central marshalling yards and freight consolidation centre. The Enquiry into the NSW transport industry, including rail/road competition, (1978--80) under Commissioner Gavan McDonell, found that this centre was inefficient, should be moved, and the land used for other public purposes. These recommendations were acted upon and by the mid-to-late 1980s, when the area had become largely derelict it was redeveloped as a pedestrian and tourist precinct as an initiative of then New South Wales Minister for Public Works, Laurie Brereton. The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour was a venue of the 2000 Summer Olympic Games and a key meeting venue of APEC Australia 2007.
