便利フレーズ「way to go」の使い方
=================================
　
「way to go」は、ネイティブの日常会話でもよく使われる便利なフレーズなのですが、用法によって大きく意味が変わるので使い方に注意が必要です。しかし、使い分けはとても簡単なのでマスターしておきましょう！

1) Way to go!
→「よくやった！」
--------------------------------------------------
　
「Way to go!」は「Good job!」と同じ意味合いで、スポーツで良いプレーをした選手に対するかけ声として本来は使われていました。しかし、今ではスポーツに限らず、努力して目標を達成した人に対する褒め言葉・励まし言葉として使われています。またアメリカ人は、何か失敗を犯した人に対して「やってくれたね・・・」のように、皮肉った意味としても使う場合があります。
　
＜例文＞
　
Way to go! I'm proud of you!
（よくやった！私も嬉しいです！）
　
Way to go, Andrew. All that hard work paid off!
（よくやったね。今までの努力が報われたんだよ！）　
　
You emailed everyone the wrong address? No wonder no one's here. Way to go, buddy.
（みんなに間違った住所をメールしんちゃう？通りで誰もおらんわけやわ・・・あ〜ぁ、やってもうたな。）

2) _____ is the way to go!
→「〜がするのがベストだ！」

方法や手段など、何かをすることがベストであると表す口語的な表現です。例えば、「冬は友達と集まって鍋パーティーするのがベストだ」は「Having a nabe party with your friends is the way to go in the winter.」になります。
　
✔この使い方をする場合は“way to go”前に必ず“the”を入れる。
　
✔“only”を加えて「The only way to go」とすることで、「それしかない」や「それに尽きる」といった強調した表現になる。
　
＜例文＞
　
Traveling while you're young is the way to go.
（若いときに旅行をするのがベストだね。）
　
Buying Christmas gifts online is the way to go.
（クリスマスプレゼントはネットで買うのがベストです。）
　
Season the steak with a little salt and pepper. That's the only way to go.
（ステーキの味付けは少量の塩と胡椒に尽きるでしかし！）

3) A long way to go
→「まだまだ」

まだまだ道のりが長いことを意味するフレーズです。ある場所までの距離が遠いことや、目標に到達するまでの道のりが長いこと指し、目標に向けやるべきことがまだたくさん残っている意味合いが含まれます。
　
✔日常会話では省略して「Ways to go」とも言う。
　
We still have a long way to go until we get back home.
（まだまだ家には着きません。）
　
I feel like my listening is getting better but I still have ways to go with my speaking.
（リスニング力は良くなってきたと思いますが、スピーキング力はまだまだです。）
　
I'm not even close to being done. I still have a long way to go.

I just celebrated my 28th birthday last week. =) Thank you for all the wishes. What does your birthday mean to you? For me, it's another year to be grateful for everyone and everything I've been blessed with. This year, I decided to host a party for YOU, my followers.

I've probably said this too many times, but I will not be doing what I do today and be where I am today without each and every one of you. And I don't ever want to take that for granted.

It's incredible how the online space has connected us. YOU have changed and inspired me in all aspects of my life. Hence, I wanted to personally meet and thank some of you who have been watching my videos. It’s truly amazing to be in a room filled with like-minded women. There’s just so much love and I feel extremely blessed.

Getting to know you and listening to your life and fitness journey reminds me to always continue to help others, stay grounded and if I can continue to change just ONE life through my videos, well then, I'll continue to film and create them. That's my main drive when I first started my YouTube channel in March 2013 and it's still my main drive today. =)

Five Ways to Improve Your Listening Skills
Maintain eye contact
It shows others that you are paying attention.
Match their eye contact to not be creepy.
Some people love eye contact. Others prefer to look away from time to time. Depends on the other party
Another way to show that you are listening is to lean in with your ear
Take Notes
This will reinforce your memory. It’s advisable to ask permission first in some situations.
This is good for when you meet someone more successful than you.
Ask: Do you mind if I take notes?
Shows respect and makes them feel valued.
Allow people to finish their own sentences
No matter how enthusiastically you want to jump into the conversation.
Doing so will indicate respect for what the person is saying.
Let them finish their sentence and then ask. Would you like my feedback?
Is what you have to say more important to the person speaking?
Respond so the other person knows you’re listening.
Your response maybe “Yes” or “I see” or merely nodding your head. Any of these will do.
I see where you are coming from
That is profound
I wish I could do what you do
Ask core questions.
That is typically a series of “why” questions that go deeper into a particular subject to gain the greatest understanding of a situation. Start with broad information and continue seeking more specific responses.
Ask core questions – So you don’t get a yes or no answer
Why is that important? How can I help?
What’s preventing you from moving forward?
Asking them profound questions. Questions shift belief/change lives.
These may seem simple but complexity is the enemy of execution. If you think these sound like common sense, first ask yourself “How many people do you know that do all this? How would it transform your life if you did?” If you do it, you will stand out. People will like you but they won’t know why. It’s subconscious.
