這是墨西哥最盛大節日之一，墨西哥人以歡樂的態度看待死亡，無盡的歡笑和快樂來紀念那些死去的人們

因此每年的亡靈節，人們祭奠亡靈，卻絕無悲哀，甚至載歌載舞，通宵達旦，意在與死去的親人一起歡度節日。

歷史
亡靈節源自數千年前的阿茲特克（Aztec）、托特克（Toltec）和其他納瓦民族（Nahua）文化。對這些民族來說，死亡只是生命週期的一部分，因此悼念死者是不敬的行為。死去的人依然活在群體的記憶和精神中，而且會在亡靈節時暫時回到人間。
供奉逝者
亡靈跋涉回人間，想必又飢又渴，因此墨西哥人會在靈壇擺出死者最愛的食物，和以下常見的供品：
