Happy 7 months old, dear baby Ansel! ❤
Today, you turn seven months old and you flashed your wide, toothless grin at me, like how you do umpteen times every day, when I took a photo of you.
It's been a month of gastronomic adventure and discovery with you in the past month. Let's see, your favourite food for now includes avocado, banana, pear and pumpkin but you've also tried potato, carrot, blueberries, apple, fish, chicken, sweet potato, brown rice, cereal and more! That's not bad for your introductory month of having solids, right? Although it makes me more exhausted having to cook your meals separately from ours daily, that bright smile of yours makes it all worthwhile.
You are also getting good at sitting down on your own though you tend to lose balance and fall over after some time. Haha. Like the previous months, you have been drooling and munching on your fingers incessantly but you have yet to cut your first tooth, so let's just wait patiently for now yeah.
Your sisters say you are very chubby and I think so too, you might just be the chubbiest one of the lot. It is a heartening thing to know because, like me, you are a preemie but I am relieved to see that you are gaining weight steadily. We love seeing your baby rolls and oh, you are easily tickled and will laugh and laugh when it happens.
We went for your vaccinations earlier this month and you were totally a trooper - your cries lasted merely 1 or 2 seconds despite having a jab on each thigh. That said, I think it's because I was there to comfort you and for now, judging by how you reach out for me or whine whenever I walk away, there is no doubt that you love me deep deep.
But you know what? That is not even a fraction of how much I love you. I can't even describe it but you are my world, or rather, our world because your siblings love you to the moon and back too.
Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in our lives and cheering us up every single day - something which we truly need during these gloomy times. Looking forward to more happy days stuck with you 24/7, my darling boy! ❤

✈️ 香港人習慣喝湯養生,移民後怎樣煲湯?人在異鄉煲湯材料可能不易買,其實只要留意食材屬性,尋常食材亦能煲碗靚湯,有助強身防病!💪🏻
居住在寒冷地區,或者冬季時間日短夜長,大自然陽氣對人體正面影響不足,體質虛弱的人會容易感到不適,常見症狀為怕冷怕風、氣血運行不暢引致的頭痛及頸部肌肉酸痛、寒邪侵襲脾胃導致嘔吐及腹瀉等。天氣寒冷亦會令人提不起勁,甚至患上冬季抑鬱症,想改善症狀宜趁日照時間多作戶外活動,適量飲用有驅寒保暖的湯水,加入屬性溫熱的南瓜、洋蔥、肉桂、胡椒、雞、羊等,亦可多配搭生薑煮食。
食材小貼士:
肉桂屬性偏熱,能溫中散寒、暖脾胃、溫經通脈,紓緩怕冷、手腳發冷、胃寒、寒性月經不適等症狀。注意身體有偏熱症狀如陰虛火旺、痔瘡、大便乾燥、孕婦不宜服用。
南瓜紅豆肉桂湯
功效:驅寒保暖,紓緩寒冷天氣引起的怕冷、四肢冰冷等症狀。
材料:南瓜400克、紅蘿蔔1根、紅豆30克、紅腰豆30克、洋薏米30克、肉桂粉半茶匙、薑2片
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨,南瓜去皮去籽切塊;紅蘿蔔去皮切塊備用。
2. 鍋中加入2500毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮1.5小時,最後下鹽調味即可。

Pumpkin cinnamon soup can dispel cold and keep warm
✈️ Hong Kong citizens are used to drinking soup to maintain our health, but how do we make soup when we have immigrated to another country? It might not be easy to get our hands on the ingredients, but as long as we pay attention to the nature of the ingredients, we will still be able to make healthy and tasty soups! 💪🏻
Individuals with a weak body may experience discomfort if they stay in a cold climate or areas where winter days are shorte. This is due to the lack of the yang energy in the natural environment.
Hence, they would always be afraid of the wind and cold. The improper circulation of the blood and the qi would cause a headache and muscle soreness on the neck. The cold pathogenic factor would also attack the spleen and stomach, causing individuals to vomit and experience diarrhea.
The cold weather might even cause them to experience winter depression. To improve the condition, carry out outdoor activities during the day and consume soup that can dispel cold and warm the body. You can also add ingredients like pumpkin, onion, cinnamon, pepper, chicken and mutton that are warm in nature, alongside raw ginger.
Tips on ingredient:
Cinnamon - hot in nature, dispels cold and relieves pain, warms meridians and channels, warms the spleen and stomach, Suitable for those with aversion to cold, cold stomach, stomach pain, decrease in appetite. Note it is not suitable for those with yin deficiency with excess fire and heat related symptoms, hemorrhoid, dry stool and pregnant.
Pumpkin and red bean soup with cinnamon
Effects: Dispels cold and keeps warm, relieves symptoms of aversion to cold, cold limbs caused by cold weather.
Ingredients: 400g pumpkin, 1 carrot, 30g red bean, 30g red kidney bean, 30g pearl barley, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 slices of ginger
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Peel and seed the pumpkin and cut into pieces. Peel the carrot and cut into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2000ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1.5 hours. Add salt to taste.

豉汁排骨飯
材料
排骨 300公克/pork spare ribs 300g
洗淨的米 2杯/rice 2cup
水 1又3/4杯/water 1.75cup
辣椒片 5公克/chili pepper 5g
蒜末 10公克/garlic 10g
豆豉 10公克/fermented black bean 10g
調味料:
A
蠔油 1大匙/oyster sauce 1tbsp.
米酒 2茶匙/ cooking rice wine 2tsp.
太白粉 1茶匙/tapioca starch 1tsp.
細糖 1/2茶匙/sager 1/2tsp.
B
香油 1茶匙/sesame oil 1tsp.
作法:
1. 排骨加入辣椒片、蒜末、所有調味料A,抓拌均勻,醃漬約5分鐘。
2. 再加入豆豉、香油,混合拌勻。
3. 將洗淨的米放入不鏽鋼盒中,加入水鋪平。擺上作法2的豆豉排骨。
鯖魚豆腐
材料:
薄鹽鯖魚 1/2片/salted mackerel
蛋豆腐 1塊/egg tofu 1pcs
薑絲 10公克/ginger 10g
辣椒絲 5公克/ chili pepper 5g
調味料
醬油 1大匙/soy sauce 1tbsp.
味醂 1茶匙/ mirin 1tsp.
米酒 2茶匙/ cooking rice wine 2tsp.
作法:
1. 將蛋豆腐放入不鏽鋼盒中,擺上鯖魚片,再擺上蔥絲、辣椒絲。
2. 所有調味料混合拌勻,淋在作法1上。
辣醬南瓜雞肉
材料
南瓜 120公克/ pumpkin 120g
雞肉 150公克/ chicken 150g
調味料
蒜末 10公克/garlic 10g
辣椒醬 1大匙/ chili sauce 1tbsp.
糖 1/2茶匙/sugar 1/2tsp.
米酒 2茶匙/cooking rice wine 2tsp.
作法:
1. 不鏽鋼盒中擺上南瓜、雞肉塊。
2. 所有調味料混合拌勻成辣醬,淋在作法1上。
破布子野菇
材料:
鴻喜菇 80公克/ bunashimeji 80g
紅甜椒 30公克/ red pepper 30g
蒜末 5公克/garlic 5g
調味料:
破布子醬(含汁) 80公克/ pickled cordia dichotoma 80g
作法:
1. 不鏽鋼盒中放入鴻喜菇、紅甜椒。
2. 破布子醬和蒜末混合拌勻,淋在作法1上。
1. 萬能鍋倒入水,擺上蒸架,再放入豆豉排骨飯、辣醬南瓜雞肉、破布子野菇,上面疊上鯖魚豆腐。
2. 蓋上鍋蓋,開大火蒸約30分鐘即可。

1) 咖哩魚頭
材料:
鮭魚頭 1顆/ fish head curry
咖哩醬 1包/ curry sauce 1pcs
洋蔥絲 100公克/onion 100g
九層塔葉 少許/ basil leaves q.s.
作法:
1. 熱鍋倒入適量油,放入魚頭,將雙面煎至焦香。
2. 放入洋蔥絲、咖哩醬,煮滾後小火燒煮約10分鐘至入味即可。
2) 咖哩肉片
材料:
豬肉片 適量/ pork slices q.s.
咖哩醬 適量/ curry sauce q.s.
作法:
1. 咖哩醬煮滾。
2. 肉片燙熟放入盤中,淋上煮滾的咖哩醬即可。
3) 咖哩燉蔬菜
材料:
咖哩醬 1包/curry sauce 1pcs
櫛瓜200公克/ zucchini 200g
南瓜 150公克/ pumpkin 150g
茄子 150公克/ aubergine 150g
紅甜椒 100公克/ red pepper 100g
作法:
1. 咖哩解凍後放入鍋中,煮滾。
2. 放入所有蔬菜,轉小火,蓋上鍋蓋,燉煮10分鐘。
3. 舀出後搭配麵包或是白飯一起食用都適合。
4) 咖哩烤肉排
材料:
肉排 500公克/ pork loin 500g
咖哩醬 1/2包/ curry sauce 1/2pcs
作法:
1. 將咖哩醬倒入大碗中,放入肉排,冷藏醃漬約2小時。
2. 烤盤鋪上萬用調理紙,擺上醃好的肉排,放入已預熱好的烤箱中,以上下火230℃、10分鐘。
3. 烤好後取出盛盤即可。
5) 咖哩燒雞
材料:
咖哩醬 1包/ curry sauce 1pcs
雞肉片 500公克/ chicken breast slices 500g
四季豆 100公克/ dwarf bean 100g
紅甜椒 60公克/ red pepper 60g
鴻喜菇 80公克/ bunashimeji 80g
作法:
1. 醬汁倒入後煮滾,再放入雞肉煮滾,小火煮約3分鐘。
2. 接著加入四季豆、紅甜椒、鴻喜菇,再煮約2分鐘。
3. 淋在白飯上一起食用即可。
