When you Can’t See the Supply
“All the congregation of the children of Israel traveled from the wilderness of Sin, by their journeys, according to Yahweh’s commandment, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test Yahweh?” The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?” Moses cried to Yahweh, saying, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.” Yahweh said to Moses, “Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Israel with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile, and go. Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”(Exodus 17:1-6 WEB)
The name of the place “Rephidim” in the wilderness of Sin means “place in the desert”. When the children of Israel were encamped at Rephidim, they were thirsty and there was no water source in sight.
This represents a situation in life where you can’t see the supply. It’s like you feel trapped with no possible way out.
When we walk by sight, we will be more conscious of the lack.
However, when you trust God, you will know that even in an ‘impossible’ situation, God has already prepared the supply that you need.
God will bring the water of supply out of the rock for you.
“and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.” (1 Corinthians 10:4 WEB)
The apostle Paul taught us the revelation that the rock was a picture of Christ.
God brought nourishment and life out for us when Christ was stricken. When did this happen?
At the cross, Jesus was punished for our sins so that we could receive His righteousness, and obtain every blessing from God.
In whatever desert situation you find yourself in now, keep your eyes on Jesus. The water you need to quench your thirst will come from Christ who was stricken for your sake!

Money was also a loaded topic in my family.
At dinner tables, over boiled pork and stir-fried kang kong, my parents had many heated arguments over the last thing my dad bought and the last thing my mom refused to buy.
The more money they made, the more they quarreled.
Those stories later shaped the way I felt towards money. 💸
If money were a human, how would it look like to you?
For me, money used to look like Scrooge, the protagonist of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol”.
I was afraid of Scrooge. I was very much afraid of money.
Of course, I didn’t go around panting: “Check this 1 dollar note! I’m terrified!” 😨
The fear was hidden deep in my subconscious.
---
Money sounds scary to all, but don't let it scare us away from making conscious decisions and purposes. 🙏
Have fun reading my latest blog (10-minutes read) on how you can initiate a loving relationship with money. 👇

I quarreled with my house.
My wife ordered a sudden course change while driving.
But my steering wheel did not make it.
I shouted at my house.
"Tell me more quickly!"
My wife is angry.
I ate a snack in a tense sense.
Please rest assured.
My family and I reconciled. The world is peaceful.
