60 second film competition: sharing some still grabs from the recent short. Nothing fancy here, very basic and foundational grade.
Treatment:
1. ZLog to Rec709 conversion.
2. Color correction & skintone correction
3. Teal & orange color grade.
4. “Film look” treatment: desaturate shadow & highlight, desaturate all colors except teal
& orange, lift shadow.
5. Noise reduction.

Nothing fancy here, basic coverage with a little bit of sound design. A room tone sound layer on top VO to avoid the awkward silence 🤣
Color grade process follows the classic steps: log to Rec709 conversion, color correction, color grade and a 'film look' treatment to wrap it up.
It's time to calibrate the screens again! Screen calibration is a wide topic in itself, but for delivering to the online platform it is still a wild wild west (e.g. device/screen manufacturers don't adhere to the sRGB or Rec709 color space, etc.)
Nevertheless, we are about upholding a standard which is to deliver media files as color accurate as possible from our end.
Straight out of the camera with settings 150fps H2.65 low bitrate with REC709 color profile without any post grading. Its extreme aspect ratio because I shot 1.33x anamorphic and for 4k 150fps I could only shoot in 2.4:1 aspect ratio. Otherwise would had to film in a 2.7k 150fp which got a 16.9:10 aspect ratio.

This test I wanted to see how it looks straight out of the camera with REC709 without grading the camera, I am impressed how much dynamic range it got as often many current cam REC709 are very contrasty while ZCAM E2 looks really good and also retain so much info still in the shadows.
All shots taken with ZCAM E2 on a monopod with settings: ISO2500 with REC709 color profile in H2.65 codec.
