Led my third hiking guided tour and this time, it was with ex-colleagues.

(Yes, I’m jobless now so if you have any media engagement lobangs, please let me know! 😅)

Anyway, it’s my third time heading back to the Kranji portion of the Rail Corridor and Rainbow Bridge... and I still love it! It’s really such a serene and tranquil strip of green space. But the trail has definitely gotten muddier and a number of trees have fallen since my visit last month, probably due to the heavy rains. So do note that the grounds can be muddy and slippery if it rained the previous day. But it’s still all fun! 😁

P.S. My next guided hike will be open to my readers and followers. I just have to confirm a date on a weekend this month first. Will probably open the sign-up next week so do keep a look out!

Finally hiked along the Rifle Range Link trail and I’m surprised it’s relatively deserted. It’s actually part of the MacRitchie Trail which starts from erm, MacRitchie Reservoir. Duh. But the terrain is much rockier and uneven compared to the normal trails. And that means more fun! 🤣

I think the main reason why it’s not as popular as the main trails is because the trail ends at the tip of Rifle Range Road. Then one has to walk along the road all the way down to connect to either the Pipeline Trail (1.6km away) or the Rail Corridor at Bt Timah (3.2km away). So the combined distance is quite long.

As for us, we cheated a little. We drove all the way up to the end of Rifle Range Road, parked and entered the trail from there (see last photo). We then hiked to Jelutong Tower and climbed the 6-storey tower for an awesome view of the nature reserve. Distance per way is an easy 1.6km hike. Of course, we took a far longer time because #photos. 😅 Maybe we’ll walk all the way to MacRitchie the next time. 😁

Our weekly nature trek was put on hold this week, as it's the start of exam fever. Lucky we managed to squeeze in two treks last weekend then! 😁

So in addition to locating Seng Chew Quarry last Sunday, we visited Singapore Quarry too. Part of Diary Farm Nature Park, Singapore Quarry is extremely straightforward to get to. If you're driving park at Carpark A and walk for 1.2km along one continuous path. For a shorter trek, you can join the path from Jalan Asas behind Rail Mall. It's only a 700m walk to the quarry from there.

When the wide asphalt road changes to a narrow gravel path, you are near and soon, you'll see the towering granite cliffs! There's a serene calm about the surroundings, and kids will be excited by the numerous large fishes that crowd around the lookout platform (please don't feed them though).

If you have young kids and would like to bring them for their first nature trek, this would be a great introduction. And should you have more time, you can also visit the neighbouring rustic Wallace Trail at the park which I shared a few weeks back. Oh, and keep a lookout for wildlife too... we saw a baby boar which delighted the monkies (last pic)!

ANA B787 ドリームライナー ビジネスクラスより羽田空港機内アナウンスの後、離陸。
離陸後5分間固定視点の無編集映像です。
飛行機は羽田-台湾 台北松山空港へのフライトです。
前から見たロールスロイス社製トレント1000 ジェットエンジンをメインに羽田上空の映像、動画の後半で鶴見つばさ橋、横浜ベイブリッジの景色をお楽しみ下さい。
特に離陸直後、1:28あたりでエンジン(タービン)から主翼にかけて、ベーパー(ヴェイパー)現象・縮流現象が一瞬起きていて、ひこうき雲のような、白い線が流れています。
カッコイイ！飛行機雲を見る時は見上げるだけじゃないんですね！
お見逃しなく。
現象自体は珍しくなくても、カメラが偶然とらえていました。
メカニズムにはあまり詳しくないのですが、湿度が高い時に見られるようですね。
条件が重なった上、たまたまカメラに収めたのはラッキーでした！
4K(2160p)で撮影しましたのでパソコン等の対応端末で再生して頂くと、より美しく視聴出来るので擬似搭乗の気分でお試し下さい。
