加拿大溫哥華 第三屆國際傳統醫學大會暨中醫大會 – 日程更新

即將在八月下旬舉辦的加拿大第三屆國際傳統醫學大會暨中醫大會，在舉辦單位不斷地和各方溝通協調下，正式的日程表及各個講員的講題總算是固定下來了，畢竟安排近二十位來自世界各地的專家齊聚一堂，並非一件容易的事。這次大會，有幾位專家被安排演講三個小時，其他專家的演講從半個小時到兩個小時不等。感謝大會的重視，幫我安排在大的會場上演講三個小時，也幫我把原訂晚上的演講時段改成下午，雖然舉辦單位表示晚上的聽眾會比較多，我還是喜歡晚餐後放輕鬆、看看書、做運動、並早點就寢，謝謝大會的體諒，這樣我也就不用幫忙收拾會場了，莞爾！

關於部落格 我本來是個科技人，也是一個科技管理與投資人，受過現代化邏輯分析訓練，從量子物理的嚴密數學推衍，無線通訊軟硬體的系統設計，到複雜的公司購併與投資財務模型，無一不是嚴格的「科學分析」與「實事求是」。換句話說，我本來跟中醫一點關係都沒有， 也跟很多不了解中醫的人一樣，覺得中醫很不科學，甚至覺得中醫已經該被淘汰了。 我為什麼會走到中醫的領域呢？十年前左右，正當我頂著史丹佛電機博士及柏克萊MBA的光環在矽谷汲汲營營時，我父親得到了肝癌。一開始醫生說仍不嚴重，只有1.2公分，栓塞手術即可去掉腫瘤。第一次栓塞後，果然腫瘤迅速縮小，可是不到三個月，新的肝腫瘤冒出來，竟然有5～6公分。又再次栓塞，第二顆腫瘤也縮小，然而，又不到三個月，再度有新的肝腫瘤冒出來，這一次成為11公分，連醫生都不相信腫瘤可以長得這麼快，只能說那叫做「多發性肝癌」。 我一方面不能理解這樣的病情發展及醫療方式，另一方面想幫助父親，我開始作研究，查詢各種資料，請教各類醫學專家。很快的，我了解到現代西醫學對慢性病的處理是很有限的，就連美國疾病管理中心 (Centers of Disease Control and Preventions, CDC)，美國國家衛生研究院(National Institute of Health, NIH)， 世界衛生組織 (World Health Organization, WHO) ，以及很多其它世界頂尖醫學研究組織都表示，現代西醫學沒有辦法有效治療癌症，心血管疾病，關節炎，失眠，憂鬱症，體重過重等等慢性疾病，標準醫療程序有很多的爭議及副作用。這讓我很驚訝，深入了解後才明瞭，現代西醫學在分子生物學層面上，或許很科學，但是在臨床治療，並非我以前認為那般邏輯化，而且臨床治療往往非常局部化，缺乏整體理論與模型，而是以嘗試錯誤 (trial and error)及鬆散的統計數據為主。以一個科技人的背景而言，這樣的一門學問，似乎達不到「科學」的條件。同時，我發現，和我有相同想法與疑問的人其實很多，甚至有好幾位史丹佛大學的西醫專家教授，當面指出西醫臨床上的缺失，並大聲質疑西醫學上的很多問題。 就在我對現代西醫學感到無助時，有朋友及西醫專家要我去多了解中醫，這些人都有見證過或親身經歷過中醫治療的效果 。我一開始時，無法接受這樣的建議，就連現代西醫學都達不到嚴謹的科學標準，古老的中醫又如何能提供一條大道呢？然而，人的緣分是很難解釋的，在這個時間點上，我碰上了中醫經方派大師倪海廈中醫師。倪先生病人案例讓我很驚訝，我保持科技人懷疑的精神，去了解去查驗。我慢慢的對中醫有了很不一樣的認識，開始愛上中醫，而倪先生也成為我中醫的啟蒙老師，帶領我進入了中醫的世界，我從一個不懂中醫的人，轉變成一個中醫的支持者與實踐者，經過很多很多的臨床驗證，我實在不得不讚歎古老中醫的偉大。 中醫其實是一門很嚴謹的科學，非常俱有邏輯性，臨床效果往往超過一般人的想像。然而，很多人對中醫有很多的誤解，更有很多人利用中醫的名號做不肖的生意，讓中醫背負了很多的罪名。所以，我想寫個部落格，來說明我所認識的中醫，這當然無法闡述整個中醫學問，更無法代表整個中醫界對中醫的看法。然而，希望藉由我嚴謹的科學與科技背景，以及我在臨床上做到很多人認為中醫無法做到的病例，來喚醒一般人對中醫的誤解與懷疑。 以現代科學方法來闡述中醫，至少有兩條路。第一條路是用現代的醫學、生命科學、分子生物學等等來說明中醫古書中的理論及治療方法。很多人試著使用這個方法來解釋中醫，我也曾花費不少心思與力氣在這條路上。然而，我認為這樣的方法雖然有其一定的價值，它可能不是最好的方法，這種使用一門學問去解釋另一門渾然不同學問的方法，就好像硬要用化學的化學反應去解釋物理學的萬有引力，看起來都是在解釋自然現象，兩者的出發點和基本定律(axioms)完全不同，即使在最終的理論上或許可以聯結，但在實際生活應用上不是很有效率的 。 另一條以現代科學方法來闡述中醫的路，是利用基本科學的精神，以及邏輯推理的方法，把中醫當作完全獨立的學問，先不要想證明中醫的基本定律，而是想辦法從那些基本定律推衍，看看是否能在人體現象與治病上得到相符合的結果，如果在多次應用上得到很好的相符性，那麼這些中醫基本定律就有很高的科學價值。也就是說，我們先不要急著用現代醫學來解釋中醫古書中的理論，我們把中醫古書中的基本定律條列整理出來，利用邏輯推理，應用在臨床治療上，看看人體的反應及治療效果是不是和我們推理預測的相符合，如果符合性很高，那這些經典中的基本定律就值得我們尊敬與接受，即使我們不能解釋這些基本定律，那只代表「現代醫學」這項「工具」還不夠先進，畢竟「現代物理學」不能解釋的自然現象也仍然太多太多。 至於部落格為何取名為「當張仲景遇上史丹佛」，這得提到一本書「當孔子遇上哈佛 」。前輩元大創投董事長李克明先生是哈佛大學嚴格訓練出來的法學博士及企業管理碩士（MBA），是位專精跨國商務及企業購併的國際律師，更是國際金融企業的頂級專業經理人，經歷過無數次的商場鬥智。 十年前，李董事長因緣際會重新拾起論語孟子等等中國經典，他驚然發現，他幾十年來累積無數的商場心得與智慧，竟然早在幾千年前就被古人討論過，而這些經典書籍裡的智慧更遠遠超過他的想像，於是李董事長以他哈佛企管與法律所貫輸的邏輯思維 ，全心投入中國經典研究，也因此寫了「當孔子遇上哈佛」。當我向李董事長請益時，了解到我個人從西方教育轉向中國古老智慧的歷程與李董事長頗為相似，一個講治人心，一個講治人體，而我寫這部落格時，也受到李董事長的大力鼓勵。因此，我也就沿著李董事長的書名，把孔子換成中醫醫聖張仲景，把哈佛換成我的母校史丹佛，成了「當張仲景遇上史丹佛」。

【第4屆身心介面國際研討會】將於2014年2月21-22日於台中市中國醫藥大學舉辦，歡迎相關領域的臨床工作者與研究人員踴躍參與！

本屆研討會的主軸是'One Step Ahead: Prevention and Prediction in Mental Health'。希望透過國內外基礎研究與臨床研究的整合來探究身體與心智間的交互作用，並提供臨床工作者及研究人員在精神醫療的預防與治療上目前最新結果與未來方向。

大會為鼓勵國內外的學者參與，特別提供學術論文投稿與海外與會補助。截至目前為止，已超過100位研究者報名參加，且半數以上來自海外國家；來自全球超過50篇的學術論文投稿，分別有：奧地利、澳洲、埃及、香港、德國、印度、義大利、日本、韓國、利比亞、馬來西亞、紐西蘭、奈及利亞、卡達、沙烏地阿拉伯、新加坡、南非、敘利亞、台灣、泰國、英國、美國。
