沙田區區議員黃學禮於長沙灣道政府合署對開被捕。警方聲稱他涉嫌襲警及參與暴動，而黃學禮指出，他只是收到沙田區居民作出投訴稱在深水埗不能回家，因而到場觀察，但碰巧警員在進行清場行動，並將其壓倒地上拘捕。當警方拘捕黃學禮時指罵他為「知法犯法」，又有警員聲稱自己是香港人，有為他投票，現對他表示失望。
黃議員聲稱他剛才受警察用盾牌撞擊左耳，沒有明顯傷痕，並形容在場警員為「Overreacted」（反應過度）。

The police claim he is suspected of assault against the police and for participating in the riots. Wang pointed out that he only received a complaint from residents of Shatin District that he could not go home to Sham Shui Po so he was observed at the scene. But this happened as the police officers were carrying out the clearance operation and overwhelming the protesters.
While he was arrested, Wong was said to have been accused of knowing the law but deliberately violating it (知法犯法); another police officer was said to have claimed he had voted for Wong during the last elections and was disappointed in him.
Wong claimed that he had just been hit by the police with a shield on his left ear. There were no obvious injuries and he described the police officers on the scene as having “Overreacted".
