The first is that many investors have underestimated the impact of low rates on valuations. In short, what should the stock market yield? Not its dividend yield, but its earnings yield: the ratio of earnings to price (that is, p/e inverted). Simplistically, when Treasurys yield less than 1% and you add in the traditional equity premium, perhaps the earnings yield should be 4%. That yield of 4/100 suggests a p/e ratio (the inverse) of 100/4, or 25. Thus the S&P 500 shouldn’t trade at its traditional 16 times earnings, but roughly 50% higher.
Even that, it’s said, understates the case, because it ignores the fact that companies’ earnings grow, while bond interest doesn’t. Thus the demanded return on stocks shouldn’t be (bond yield + equity premium) as suggested above, but rather (bond yield + equity premium - growth). If the earnings on the S&P 500 will grow to eternity at 2% per year, for example, the right earnings yield isn’t 4%, but 2% (for a p/e ratio of 50). And, mathematically, for a company whose growth rate exceeds the sum of the bond yield and the equity premium, the right p/e ratio is infinity. On that basis, stocks may have a long way to go.

I was planning to write an article to explain why the HK protestors have a very long shot to "move" the HK dollars and the Linked Exchange Rate System by their teeny tiny deposits. But I found that Professor Lui has explained this issue very well.
Note! The HK Linked Exchange Rate System is a de facto monetary system but not a simple exchange-rater-fixing control. The M0 supply of HK dollars is fully promised by the total amount the US dollar reserves at the ratio of 1:7.8. The fluctuation of the market exchange rate will directly change the quantity of the M0, which means the HK money issuing banks have incentives to buy or sell the currencies and maintain the rate fluctuates in a very narrow range.
The demands for more US dollar will directly shrink the quantity of the HK dollar, and the rising short-term interest rate will accelerate the process. Both will raise the exchange rate of the HK dollar. If every US dollar is taken away, there will be no HK dollars in the market at all. Here comes the problem: what currency a citizen must use to pay her tickets, punishments, taxes, and rents? There are always demands for HK dollars and people who have all US dollars in hands will have to bear the risk of loss. People will be forced to crazily trace the small quantity of the HK dollars.

"雷鼎鳴:「從2008年9月金融海嘯至今年6月,因為外國量化寬鬆政策,總共有價值等同12,861億港元的外資淨流入香港,這是筆數量驚人的巨款,它使到港元數量大增,外滙儲備也大漲,但同時推高了香港的樓價。這筆本來屬於熱錢的巨資一直賴在香港不走,直至去年3月左右開始,因美國加息香港不加,資金才稍有流出,但從貨幣基礎這一統計數據看,資金的流動基本上十分穩定。要發動港人港元買美金嗎?若想造成1997/98年亞洲金融風暴的效果,當年用30億港元左右的賭本去沽空已經可以,但今天聯繫滙率的制度早已改變,起碼要16,300億港元(亦即今天貨幣基礎的量)才可入場,否則並無能力使港元利率拋離美元利率,從而達到加強沽空的效果,索羅斯也遠遠未有這財力。要港人做嗎?這要發動100萬個家庭,每個家庭拋出163萬港元現金,買入20多萬美元才足夠。肯聽網上號召的,多半無甚積蓄,何來有百多萬元去炒賣?可以肯定,8月16日香港不會因網上的兩個號召而出現丁點的港元危機或銀行體制崩潰。」"

—甚麼是沽空比率
在股票市場中,大多投資者主要的部署都是在低位購入資產,再於高位沽出而獲利。可是,市場有人看漲,自然亦有人看淡。如果在技術上發現趨勢轉淡的跡象,普遍的投資者會選擇沽出資產,避開跌幅。但其實亦可以作出左沽空的行動,從跌市中賺取利潤。詳細沽空的程序可回顧﹕https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBSX8E-9G14 。
沽空比率就是每個交易日投資者沽空的金額佔當日總成交額的百分比,這個數據可以每天在各財經網站中找到,不過大多只有提供約30天的數字,更多的歷史數據當然可以從Bloomberg機發掘出來(笑)。
—沽空比率判斷市場方向?
由於市場上參與沽空的人士並不多,往往被解讀為大戶的行動,因為進行這類較高成本的操作是為大戶的手影,掌控市場未來的走勢。故市場中,不少人以這個沽空比率留意手握雄厚資本的大戶。到底這個概念是否正確? 我們嘗試以相關系數找出真相。
香港恆生指數 VS 沽空比率
2年: -0.197
5年: -0.186
10年: -0.316
以常理推斷,沽空比率愈高,代表沽壓愈大,價格下行機會愈大。所以沽空比率跟資產應有相反的走勢,相關系數理應為負數關係。從上方的數字顯示,過去10年的反向性最為明顯,但仍然未達中度相關性的0.4門檻,而近年的相關性亦有下降趨勢。試試從圖表中找證據,發現香港的沽空比率於近10年間有上升的現象,由10%水平輕微推升至近14%。這個可能反映香港市場正不斷地進步,由只作買入操作走向更多參與沽空的行動。在更多市場參與者下,沽空比率失卻了追蹤大戶手影的指標性。
既然香港有沽空比率可作參考,那麼美國又如何呢?
美股方面則可以參考一個名為放空與流通量比率 (Short Interest vs Float Ratio) ,概念跟本港的沽空比率十分相近。這個比率是市場上的放空量佔過去30個交易日平均成交量中的百分比,其用意是了解市場在沽空行為的動向。
美國標普500指數 VS 放空與流通量比率
2年: -0.211
5年: -0.249
10年: 0.145
跟標普500指數相比,沽空的情況依然顯示對大市的反向性,但只有-0.2的相關系數未能反映出較強的影響力。這個或因美國股市規模龐大,參與沽空的專業投資者在市場佔比不足,令沽空比率在美股方面的參考性較低。特別的是10年的數據中竟出現正數的相關性,筆者回看圖表發現在2008-2009年金融海嘯期間,沽空比率並沒有明顯的增加,相反在市況極淡及金融機構自身難保的時候,沽空的成本大大提高,令該段時間的相關性轉為正數,拉高了整體的數字。
—總結
雖然沽空背後的原理較為複雜,但主要的理念為看淡資產,視為賣盤的一方。當沽壓增加時,價格亦隨之下行。從以上的測試可見,沽空比率對大市有一定的指標性,唯較難從而觀察到大戶的手影,得出大市的方向。歸根究柢,沽空行動如能影響價格的升跌,在技術分析上必然出現明顯的訊號,沽空比率需要透過圖表中證實方才有效。

3) When will I start to see the difference (or get a flat belly)?
For this workout and any other workouts in general, you should feel and see the difference in 4-6 weeks. This varies individually depending on how much body fat you have to lose. The safe and sustainable weight loss ratio is 1-2lbs per week. Again, combine this workout with total body workouts to burn off the excess fat.
4) Can I do this workout more frequently for quicker results?
Doing this workout more frequently doesn't equal quicker result, it's a combination of total body workouts to burn the excess fat off and a good clean diet. Allowing your muscles to rest and recover is as important too - hence do it on alternate days.
5) I feel the strain on my lower back instead of abs and my lower back is arching. Am I doing it wrong?
If you are new to this workout, It's comment to arch our back because our abs muscles are not as strong yet. Slow down the pace and focus on getting the right technique initially. So only bring your legs down as low as you can without arching your back. It's alright if it's only half way through because it's more important that we don't feel the strain on our lower back, and focus on working the ab muscles. You can also support your lower back by placing your hand directly under your lower back. As your abs get stronger, you will find that you will be able to bring your legs down even further.
6) I want to get a flat belly in 1 week or 2 weeks. What can I do?
It's important to set yourself a realistic goal. We do not put on weight / belly fat overnight, hence it will take time for us to lose the weight too. The sooner you stop looking for shortcuts, instead trust yourself and your hard work, the sooner you will see results. Start by cleaning up your food, so no junks, fried food, soda drink and reduce the amount you eat. If you consume less than your body burns, that's when you lose weight. And of course combine it with total body workouts 5-6 days a week for quick and best result.
