The End of a Thing is Better than its Beginning
“For there is a time and procedure for every purpose, although the misery of man is heavy on him. For he doesn’t know that which will be; for who can tell him how it will be?” (Ecclesiastes 8:6-7 WEB)
When God carries out a purpose (what) in your (who) situation (where), there is a time (when) and procedure (how).
In tough times, we tend to worry as though God has forsaken us because we can’t see the future that God has planned for us.
When we read a storybook, we progress linearly, one page at a time. When you’re reading the page where the villain is having the upper hand, you worry for the protagonist because you don’t know about the great victory that the author has written for him in the following chapters.
God can reveal the future to you, but sometimes He doesn’t because He wants you to experience His great power by rescuing from a seemingly impossible situation.
“Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” (Ecclesiastes 7:8 WEB)
Trust that God has written a great story for you—one where you win in the end. See your life as a compilation of many short stories where you are always the main character.
In every story, you emerge as the final victor. But there’s bound to be a problem before the resolution. Trust the Author of your life.
The patient in spirit is better because he is the protagonist who goes through many trials at first. He has to patiently endure and wait for his final victory.
The proud in spirit is the villain who resorts to underhand tricks and evil schemes, but just as he’s about to win, God will disappoint him and utterly destroy his plan.
The devil thinks he’s writing your story. He has devised many traps for you. But God is the one who holds the master pen. For every evil plan, God has already prepared a great deliverance and generous restoration for you.
“Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.” (Psalms 139:16 WEB)
God has already written your story, from the beginning to the end. He doesn’t control your choices, but He knows how you will respond in each situation, and He inserts His interventions at appropriate points to lead you to your victory.
These are His appointed times. The moments where He steps in to shame your enemy and win the battle for you.
You will feel safe and secure when you know that God has already written your story. He is not responding only after each new situation happens. Things are just playing out the way He has planned it.
Have strong encouragement because the end of every short story concerning you is better than its beginning!
God makes everything beautiful in its time. Believers fall into frustration, burnout and turn their backs on God because they do not understand the truth of “God’s Appointed Time”.
