1. 受傷的部位,本身能力不足
受傷時常發生在身體最脆弱的一環,大多的運動項目是全身性的,意思是多個肌肉、部位會一起使用,來完成一個動作,不管是跑步的推蹬、羽球的扣殺、舉重的抓舉等。因此,就像一條鐵鍊,每個身體部位是一個環,彼此相扣才能支撐重量,但如果有一個部位特別弱,這個地方就會受傷。這種狀況常見於『受傷後沒有復健、重新訓練患處』的人,當肌肉拉傷、韌帶扭傷後,傷口開始癒合,但強度還不足以回去運動或訓練。解決方式多為『將患處訓練回原先的強度』、『將最弱的環節,訓練到能跟其他部位同水準』,算是最直觀、直接的復健訓練方式。

2. 受傷以外的部位在「裝死」
如上面所說,身體要能產生一個動作需要多個關節、肌肉的合作,當很多人在偷懶,最認真的那個一定會過勞,也就是所說的「過度使用」,從剛開始疲勞、痠痛、緊繃,後來演變成疼痛、受傷、斷裂等。常見的例子像是業餘的網球、羽球愛好者,為求速成、能趕快比賽,想著手越出力越能把球打得更強勁,實際上,不管是投擲類、持拍類的運動,主要發力的應該是軀幹、下肢,而手跟肩膀負則較是穩定的功能。解決方式應為『學習該運動項目的動作技術、適當的發力方式』,不過有時候,當事人自己也不知道「身體在裝死」或「無法體會如何使用其他部位」,這時就需要透過動作控制訓練,找出身體的動作習慣、神經反射、肌肉控制,才能喚醒部會使用的部位

3. 真的衰
由於物理治療師的養成教育很著重在「找出受傷的原因」,例如跑步時膝蓋會反覆性地疼痛,可能是髖關節穩定性不足。但有許多單一事件、單一受傷的經驗可能真的沒有原因,就是今天運氣比較差,剛好踩空摔倒、走階梯沒注意扭傷腳、搶籃板落地踩到別人的腳而十字韌帶斷裂等。發生這類情況時,先處理好受傷處,並預防防演變成上述的兩種狀況即可。這段話是想分享給同業、學弟妹們,為了病患/學生想找到根本原因是非常好的,但也注意不用過度鑽牛角尖,必定要找出「標準答案」,醫學、訓練沒有絕對最好的方式、治療,只有「比較可能是」、「可能不是」這樣的答案,也有可能有多個答案

【區別肌肉、肌腱、韌帶】
『肌肉拉傷、肌腱炎、十字韌帶斷裂』這些詞可能大多人都有聽過、有些人也實際遭遇過,但常常會無法分辨肌肉、肌腱、韌帶等三者的差異,像常見的用詞是『肌肉拉傷』跟『韌帶扭傷』,而非肌肉扭傷或韌帶拉傷。
肌腱:
最有名的莫過於『阿基里斯腱』,即在我們腳跟及小腿後下方一條細細長長的。如果看過菜市場賣的牛腱,會發現是一坨紅色的肌肉(肌腹),連接兩條細長、白色的肌腱。肌腱連接在『肌肉與骨頭』之間,不能主動收縮,負責『傳遞力量』,如果肌腱斷裂或受損,就沒辦法有效地將肌肉產生的力量,傳遞至骨頭上並進而產生動作
肌肉:
肌肉就是『紅紅、較粗的』那條,一般我們說的蘿蔔腿(腓腸肌)或手臂的小老鼠(肱二頭肌),都是肌肉,而肌肉是連接在『肌腱與肌腱』之間,可以主動收縮,負責『產生力量及動作』,有些學者認為肌肉損傷的修復會比肌腱損傷來得迅速,因為肌肉附近有較多的血管及血液供應,而肌腱較少
韌帶:
常聽到的包括『手肘側副韌帶、膝蓋的十字韌帶』等,韌帶是連接在『骨頭與骨頭』之間,沒有辦法主動收縮,但本身的構造相當堅固,負責『提供關節穩定性』。以膝關節為例,十字韌帶連接在大腿骨(腓骨)及小腿骨(脛骨),可以避免膝關節產生過大的角度,而導致受傷。
上述提到的是主要功能,但近期也有越來越多理論認為不同構造之間有相似的功能,例如肌肉跟韌帶也能傳遞力量,肌腱透過回彈也能被動地產生力量。
備註:對於肌肉有不同的說法,有些人是將肌肉(muscle)的定義為肌腹(muscle belly)加上肌腱(tendon),但也有人將肌肉即視為肌腹、因此肌肉跟肌腱為不同個體。

One day after a missed practice landed him on the Detroit Pistons' bench, Allen Iverson spoke loudly with his play Friday night.
Once he got the chance.
Coming off the bench for the first time as a Piston, Iverson scored 17 points and led Detroit to a 107-97 victory over the slumping Milwaukee Bucks.
"With everything going on, I wanted to play well," Iverson said. "I just wanted to play well. Especially for my teammates because I let them down by not being here."
Iverson was benched by Pistons coach Michael Curry to begin the game, punishment for missing a mandatory team practice on Thanksgiving. He apologized Friday morning, then sat on the bench for almost 10 minutes as Rodney Stuckey started instead.
One spectator held up a sign that read, "practice."
Curry said the matter was closed.
"I just wanted to make up for it with my play," said Iverson, who hadn't come off the bench since Dec. 22, 2006, the night of his first game with the Denver Nuggets.
Richard Jefferson and Ramon Sessions each scored 21 points for the Bucks, who lost their third consecutive game and trailed by as many as 15 points. Milwaukee center Dan Gadzuric, starting in place of the injured Andrew Bogut, had 12 rebounds.
Stuckey responded to his third start this season by scoring seven points in the first seven minutes. He finished with 12 points, a career-high four steals and five assists in 23 minutes.
"I've been in this situation so many times. Nothing's difficult. I'm always ready to be thrown in the fire," Stuckey said.
Stuckey played so solidly that Iverson wondered if he'd ever get in.
"He was fast. There was a chance I might not play at all," Iverson said.
Until being inserted into the lineup by Curry with 2:24 remaining in the first quarter, Iverson was a cheerleader on the bench. During timeouts, he was the first one onto the court to slap the hands of Pistons players running toward the bench.
Iverson made a quick impact when he did get in. He scored his first basket just 39 seconds after he entered the game, led the Pistons with 10 points at halftime and hit three baskets within a two-minute period in the fourth quarter that put away the Bucks.
"I thought he would come in and want to play well," Curry said. "He wants to do well. And he will. We want him to be aggressive, and he was aggressive."
Walter Herrmann added 16 points and Jason Maxiell had 13 for the Pistons, who shot nearly 50 percent in the first half, making 20 of 41. The Bucks (7-11) trailed for more than 40 minutes.
"For whatever reason, particularly in the last three games, we've lost a bit of our will to defend," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. "I'm having a hard time finding lineups that are willing to go out there and try and defend."
Game notes
Bogut missed his second consecutive game due to a bone bruise in his left knee. He is averaging 11.4 points and 10.9 rebounds. Also out for the Bucks was guard Michael Redd (right ankle sprain) and they lost Charlie Villaneuva to a left hamstring strain in the fourth quarter. ... The Pistons are 3-0 when Stuckey starts. ... The game finished off a four-game road trip for the Bucks in which they lost three times. Their 12 road games (4-8 record) are the most for any team in the NBA. ... Prince started his 370th consecutive game, tops among active players.
