Raising Boys Vs Girls are totally different though I try not to raise my kids based on gender .
They deserve the same approach of Parenting .
Whether Its Bella , Tasha , Adam , Noah , Eusoff or Emelia …
They need to be treated equally .
But the teaching techniques need to be modified based on their personalities.

I don’t know a single Mandarin . So does Dr Halina but yet we send our girls to SJKC .
Why ? - Because we understand the importance of Mandarin .
It will be an advantage for the girls in years to come .
Furthermore it’s good to master many languages including Arabic and French.

But for those who plan to send your kids to a SJKC School ...it takes lots of effort and commitment .
Firstly you are unable to teach them .
You don’t really know what they are learning as all subjects are in Mandarin.
They certainly need extra classes.
Bella & Tasha have extra classes 4x a week .
They usually able to truly speak & write fluently when they are in Standard 3 .
Anything earlier - don’t expect too much .
It takes time for them to adapt as Mandarin is a tough language .
Bella is quite proficient in Mandarin but Tasha is getting there .

Different pronunciation will bring about different meaning .
It’s challenging but will be totally worth it.
Sending to SJKC from an early age is the only way for them to be fluent .
That’s the best way - surrounded by Chinese friends and environment .
Also I loved SJKC teachers - they are as strict as can be .
Memang garang - Haha

Video - Hectic Day begins

I normally take a day off just to be with my kids on their very first day of School .
Today is just Sophea Natasha ...
Bella and the Twin Boys are next week .

It’s important for me to be there to be sure everything goes smoothly .
To lift her spirit .
To keep her motivated.
To support her at all times .
To show our love .
All these small details are important for a child’s well being in the long run.
It can be stressful for our little ones .
But my kids are tough ...
They been raised that way ...
They been doing these routine since they were 3 years old.
As busy as a bee .
When it comes to parenting - Dr Halina and I believe on strict discipline but showering with infinite love .
Life is tough as it is .
Nothing comes easy in life .

But this pandemic of one year Online Schooling has really taken its toll .
It made the kids too comfortable staying at home - which is not a good thing .
InsyaAllah the girls will adapt back .
They will surely bounce back .
They always do .
