I can never stress the importance of swimming to our kids .
I'm not talking about ' main otek-otek ' in the water - if there's such a word ... but serious swimming . Knowing all the 4 strokes , training daily in and out , able to dive in and feeling comfortable in the pool.
My Dad started us 5 Brothers swimming from the age of 3 and he himself was our Coach .
I remembered all of us would train daily at 6 am at the Sungai Ujong Club before heading to School.
We had so many medals to show all kept in the home cabinet.
We had family history of asthma and starting swimming from an early age expand the lungs significantly which prevent us from getting them.
I guess my Dad knew then hence the reason he made us took the Sport.
Swimming also makes you tall & lean which explain why all the brothers are 6 footers in height.
It's also the only sport which have no injuries due to the water buoyancy .
All 5 of us were Negeri Sembilan State swimmers and 3 of us compete at International level.
Therefore it's only natural that I apply swimming to all my kids too.
My point is - do teach your kids how to swim as it has many benefits.
Its also Sunnah.
And it may help him to save a life someday ...
Swimming is surely the Best Sport ever ...
