【Market Commentary】TSMC has been dramatically raising its capital intensity while leading an excellent scaling technology in semiconductor fabrication as well as expanding advanced packaging solutions.
TSMC’s business in Japan regularly accounts for about 4% to 5% of TSMC’s total revenue. In addition, Japan also plays significant roles in the TSMC ecosystem, such as WFE, CIS, ISP, automotive devices, emerging materials & research, etc.
TrendForce believes that TSMC has been working closely with its strategic partners in Japan on not only image sensors, but also eRRAM, eMRAM, automotive MCU, and state-of-the-art packaging technologies, making a Japan-based manufacturing site a viable option.
