ピッキングのダイナミックについて質問があったので。このようにシングルノートの時はピッキングの強さが7-8ぐらいで、コードの時は、4-5ぐらいなので弾き方によって歪み度をコントロールできます。🙏⚡️🎸💥🍌Someone asked my about my picking to control my tone and overdrive sound. I use my picking dynamics around 7-8 out of 10 for single note. Then I use my picking dynamics around 4-5 for my comping chords. That's why I have control over my gain / overdrive depth by my picking. 🎶㊙️🍡🍮🍵

今週のヴィデオのレッスンは、ファンクギター、左指のミュート、右手の大きな振りです。僕もファンクのリズムが大好きですが、もしただ好きなことだけ今までやってたらこんなにきれいにミュートできてないと思います。いくつかのステップスが大事です。
This week's lesson will be focus on funk rhythm guitar playing. It's important these points: Left hand mute, right hand to swing bigger motion etc. I love funk guitar style very much, but if I only practice what I like to do (this case just funk guitar), I won't improve my guitar playing like these muting technique. There are a few important steps.
１）右手大きく振る。かなり大きく、肘から振る事。
Swing your right hand with wide motion.
２）全て左指でミュートすること。
All muted by your left fingers.
３）シンプルなコード、シンプルなラインを弾く。
Play simple chords, simple lines.
４）アンプに通す。
Play though an amp!
５）ゆっくり弾く。
Play it slow!
などです。またファンクのリズムの前にスウイングのリズムをRt３７で弾く事を勧めます。なぜか？スウイングのリズムを練習するとダウンビートとアップビートのバランスが良くなります。（僕の演奏能力開発エクササイズDVD１）なのでファンクの１６thをいきなりやるのでは、基本的なことができてないので早い物をやってることになるので難しいです。上達もあんまり早く安定しないです。
Those points are important. I really recommend to practice swing groove with Root 3rd 7th voicings. Why? If you practice swing rhythm guitar, you can make a nice balance between down stroke & up stroke. (See my AYGP dvd's EX19 etc....) So you shouldnot do practice 16th beats right away, because you need to build your solid foundation first before you practice anything fast & tricky to play. That's why you can't improve anything if you go so fast!
弾く内容。シンプルにここでは、RtM３b７の３音中心で、他の弦は、ミュートします、この場合、E7なのでオープンも弾けます。このコードが中心でベースラインが、５弦、７フレット、４フレット、５フレットなど弾けます。また６弦のオープン、３フレット、５フレットも弾けます。
Playing parts here.... basically you play Root 3rd 7th voicing mainly and mute other strings/notes. This case, it's E7 so you can ring open E string (6th string). Use this chord and you can play basic bass line ...5th string, 7th, 4th, and 5th fret. And you can play 3rd fret, 5th fret on 6th string etc.
少し早い３連のフレーズを弾きますが、これは３連をしっかりまず弾けないとこのようにできないです。この辺りある程度基本がなれるまで待った方が良いです。基本的には、右手大きく振る事が凄く大事です。しっかり音が出ること、そしてしっかり音がミュートできること。リズム的には、ベースラインとドラムのグルーヴを意識した感じです。
ゆっくりこのパターンをがんばって練習しましょう。
Many people asked me about that fast triplet. I have been doing that since I was 17 or 18. Basically it's a bit fast triplet. First, you need to be able to play "triplet" very clearly then when you play that triple, you can drag it toward end... it's really tricky thing. For groove, you want to feel about bass line & drum groove. So let's practice this groove slowly.

This is an English cover of "Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana" (The Only Flower in the World), a well-known song performed by Japanese boy band SMAP (founded in 1988 and disbanded just last year in 2016), with lyrics by singer-songwriter Noriyuki Makihara.
While I usually create my own translations, there was already a fantastic English version of this song by Hiromi De Young (YouTube linked below in the credits), and a great translation of the chorus by Nelson Babin-Coy (channel also linked). I used my favorite parts of each of these and made a few of my own changes.
I hope this song's message of acceptance and uniqueness reaches a larger audience through my cover.

*Note: As usual, most of the translation is very close to the original meaning, but the second pre-chorus (the verse starting with "I saw a small flower...") is actually quite different from the original. However, I loved these lyrics so much that I kept them :)
