Turn Up the Intensity
Recently there’s been many mosquitoes in the bathroom, and we were wondering where the source was. Mosquitoes like to breed in areas where there is stagnant water.
Today, we got so annoyed with the non-stop mosquitoes that we looked under a covered up drainage area in the bathroom and it looked gross. We used a light intensity of water to hose the area but nothing came out. After that, I turned up the intensity of the water, and guess what? A huge mass of hair was dislodged and flowed to the drain cover where we could see it!
That was seriously the stuff of nightmares. But it reminded me how many of us just get by with one sermon a week and expect it to be enough.
All this time, we have been using the hose and the shower head, but the intensity of water flowing into the drainage area was just not enough to push the mass of hair out.
When you don’t receive a high enough intensity of God’s word, you get by, but lots of junk builds up in your heart where you can’t see it. It is a cesspool of germs and everything disgusting. Soon, mosquitoes are going to be breeding there and you’ll see them fly out in the form of emotional outbursts, stress, sickness, and all sorts of manifestations of death.
One blast of a high-intensity water stream was able to dislodge the build-up of hair. Perhaps you are just one “focused session of feeding on the water of God’s word” away from your breakthrough. A session whereby you are truly paying attention and seeking the Lord’s power and counsel, without being distracted by your smartphone or something else.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is where God’s power unto salvation is. Receive it—a lot of it, and all the accumulated garbage of wrong beliefs shall be forced out into the light and destroyed once and for all!
