Back in 2001 we got stuck in Brussels during our honeymoon due to 9/11. At the time Bryan’s dad told us to visit Ghent. We weren’t able to go. Now, 18+ years later (!) we finally made it, and it’s beautiful! We took a free walking tour and loved learning about the city’s history and architecture. 這天的行程很緊湊，因為一天內要遊覽兩個城市：Ghent and Bruges。兩個城市擁有着差不多的歷史，同樣依賴着港口貿易繁榮起來， 經歷過繁盛與衰落。

由於在二戰時並沒有受到太大的破壞，所以舊城區內到處都是古老的建築物，城內充滿美麗的河道，基於我們「去旅行影靚相」的原則下，我們便決定兩個城市都要去。

由於Ghent的舊城區比較少，而且距離Brussels 比較近，我們最終決定早上去Ghent，然後下午去Bruges. 景點主要由free walking tour 介紹。

整體上我比較喜歡Ghent的小城風味，遊客比較少，而且我們很喜歡gent free walking tour 的Tatiana，她是一個愛上了Ghent的俄羅斯人，對當地的文化十份熟悉，還帶了我們去吃了Ghent 的「鼻子」！

小提示：可以的話，我們並不建議一天趕兩個城市。火車站距離舊城區有點遠，多人一起遊玩的話，可以在零售店買一張十程的巴士車票。

比利時三天的行程，我們以Brussels做基地，Brussels、Antwerp和Bruges & Ghent各一天，個人比較喜歡Ghent和Bruges。

We had a very tight schedule that day because we had to travel to Bruges and Ghent within the same day. Both cites have similar history with ups and downs and heavily reliance on trade business associated with ports.

Both cites has a well preserved old town as there was no severe damage across the world war. The old buildings and the canals are so pretty that we decide to visit both of them.

As Ghent is smaller and closer to Brussels, we planned to visit Ghent in the morning and the other city in the afternoon. Most of the sightseeing places are covered by the free walking tour.

Overall, we like Ghent more because it was more quiet and less crowded. In addition, we had a wonderful tour with gent free walking tour. The tour guide, Tatiana, is a Russian girl and you could absolutely feel her passionate to this city. She knows the culture of the city and even brings us to try the nose of gent.

Tip: We would advise against traveling both cities on the same day. Both old cities are a bit far from the train station and you may wish to buy the 10 trip ticket from retail shop.

For our 3-day in Belgium, we travel to Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent+Bruges. Personally, we love the last 2 cities more.
