為慶祝三月「國際婦女月」，今天我們要特別介紹美國大學中歷史悠久的女子學院。對台灣人來說，談到女子學院，可能很快就會聯想到宋美齡女士（蔣介石夫人），她在1908-1917年曾經就讀過喬治亞州「衛理斯安女子學院」（Wesleyan College - First For Women）和麻薩諸塞州「衛斯理學院」（Wellesley College）。
今天的美國有超過40所女子學院，是國際學生一個很好的選擇。女子學院主要是文理學院。就讀女子學院的好處包括：
1. 小班制: 班級人數較少，師生比例較高互動多。
2. 傳統: 有珍貴的立校歷史傳統，重視女性賦權和姊妹情誼。

In honor of International Women’s Month, we’d like to highlight something particularly unique about higher education in the United States: historical Women’s Colleges. For Taiwanese, when they think of Women’s Colleges, they may think of Mayling Soong, the wife of Chiang Kai-Shek. Mayling attended two women’s colleges from 1908-1917: Wesleyan College - First For Women in Georgia, and Wellesley College in Massachusetts.
Today there are more than 40 Women’s Colleges in the United States, and these still remain a fantastic option for international students. Some of the benefits of these primarily liberal arts colleges include:
1. Small Class Sizes: Women’s colleges have smaller class sizes and higher faculty-to-student ratios.
2. Traditions: Women’s colleges have traditions dating back to their founding, which promotes empowerment and sisterhood.
3. Community: Women’s colleges have active student populations, with many clubs, sports, and activities to join.
4. Alumni Support and Networking: Most Women’s colleges have strong and active alumni networks that provide ongoing support and valuable networking opportunities to help prepare for future careers.
