Bring a Good Report
“They told him, and said, “We came to the land where you sent us. Surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. However the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the children of Anak there. Amalek dwells in the land of the South. The Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite dwell in the hill country. The Canaanite dwells by the sea, and along the side of the Jordan.” Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it!” But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” They brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim. We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”” (Numbers 13:27-33 WEB)
The twelve men Moses sent out to spy the land were princes of each respective tribe of Israel.
Ten spies brought back an evil report of the land, whereas only Joshua and Caleb gave a good report.
These princes who were leaders of the tribes can represent spiritual leaders like pastors who are entrusted with God’s flocks.
Pastors should not be preaching fear as if the enemy is so much stronger than us.
“Be careful, or the devil will get you. The devil is very crafty and the whole world is under his sway.”
When a pastor keeps talking about the devil, is he really preaching the Gospel which produces faith, or preaching the bad news of the devil which produces fear?
Spiritual leaders ought not to mislead their congregations this way.
While the ten spies saw large and fortified cities built by giants as a scary obstacle, Joshua and Caleb were excited, seeing those cities as their soon-to-be possessions to house the children of Israel.
The ten spies were focusing on how large and imposing the giants were, but Joshua and Caleb were only conscious of how mighty Yahweh is, and they believed that He would give them the victory.
“Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes. They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land. If Yahweh delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us; a land which flows with milk and honey. Only don’t rebel against Yahweh, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us. Their defense is removed from over them, and Yahweh is with us. Don’t fear them.” But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. Yahweh’s glory appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Israel. Yahweh said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?” (Numbers 14:6-11 WEB)
Joshua and Caleb were free from fear because they believed that Yahweh was on their side.
When there is an imposing challenge in your path that has the potential for huge gains, see the Lord generously giving the victory to you. If it is truly an exceedingly good land, and the Lord brought you to that point, He will also supply you with the grace to overcome all difficulties.
While the ten princes saw themselves as grasshoppers in the giants’ sight, Joshua and Caleb saw the giants as bread to be easily devoured! Two drastically different beliefs because the ten princes did not have faith in Yahweh, whereas Joshua and Caleb believed in Him.
In the end, the glory of the Lord appeared and He rebuked the people for their bad opinion of Him and the unbelief in their hearts.
Even though He had worked mighty signs and wonders in Egypt, the Red Sea, and in the wilderness, the children of Israel were so hard-hearted that they forgot all the amazing things that the Lord had done for them.
If you have been entrusted with leadership over God’s people, make sure you are preaching the Gospel (good news) to them, painting a vision of a good God who loves His people and who is mighty to save in any situation. Christians don’t need any more negativity or fear—they already get that from the world in their daily lives.
When you encounter a new challenge, focus on the bigness of your God, not on the strength of your enemies. No matter what shape, size, or form they come in, God is still more powerful than all of them combined, and He will give you the victory when you trust in Him.
A new faith declaration: “The size or power of my enemy is irrelevant because my God is so much greater than any enemy. My God is with me and I am victorious through Him who loves me!”

Who is Going Up in the Rapture?
“Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.” (Romans 8:8-9 WEB)
When Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to begin indwelling the redeemed saints, the Spirit started to go into every believer and merge with their reborn human spirits.
When the Rapture happens, Jesus will receive those who have the Spirit in them, back to Himself.
Some people would have you believe that you can miss the Rapture if you are not watchful, and if you become worldly, or if you sin, or if you don’t pray enough, etc.
Such teachings are used to scare people into holy living, but it only produces the opposite effect. People put on an appearance of holiness in public, but they are self-condemned and fearful in private, causing them to be trapped in cycles of habitual sin.
Fear of punishment can never empower you to live a holy life. This kind of fear that dishonors Jesus’ finished work at the cross comes from the flesh, and it will produce sinful actions, just like how Adam and Eve hid from God because they were afraid.
It is not those who walk extra holy that will be worthy of going up in the Rapture. You will not be left behind if you are already a believer.
The only criteria to be enraptured is that you must have the Holy Spirit in you.
When Jesus calls for His bride, only those with the indwelling Spirit will be transformed and caught up to meet Him in the air.
If you have the Holy Spirit in you, it means that your spirit is so righteous, pure, blameless, and holy that it can be a permanent dwelling place for the Spirit of God. The apostle Paul said that a believer’s body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. You are clean enough to house God inside you!
Believers need to hear how righteous they have become in Christ. When they believe that they are righteous, they will have faith to trust God and expect His grace to operate in their lives. Through faith, the righteous spirit will be able to bring the sinful flesh into submission. This is what empowers them to live a righteous life that glorifies God.
When listening to teachings about the Rapture, take care that they are not those that produce a dreadful fear of punishment in you. You should be filled with excitement and hope instead because that will be the day of your bodily salvation!

Faith Declaration: God’s Angels Guard Me in All My Ways
A wrong belief: “I wish Jesus would come down from Heaven and walk beside me to keep me safe. I feel so vulnerable down here on earth.”
“no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.” (Psalms 91:10-13 WEB)
Today, the Lord brought me back to Psalm 91 to teach me about the part about angels and the assistance that they render to us.
We are not left defenseless here on earth. You are protected from enemies, accidents, and sicknesses “for He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways”.
Angels (plural; not just one angel) are actively guarding you in your daily walk. Look how attentive they are—they bear you up such that you will not even dash your feet against a stone.
All this fantastic protective service is happening in the realm that is invisible to us. Angels clearing the way for us, assisting in times of trouble, and ministering to us, according to God’s command.
We are precious children of God, and as royalty, we have the most powerful defenders with us every day. They are invisible to us, but they are still around. We walk by faith, not by sight—we must believe God’s word.
How do you tread on the lion and the cobra? This is impossible with God’s intervention because if you approach these animals in the wild, they will attack you.
It can only be because our guardian angels are restraining these beasts, preventing them from harming us.
Think about Daniel who was cast into the lion’s den. An angel of the Lord had shut the lions’ mouths and stood in between so that they would not harm Daniel, even though the powerful beasts were starving.
“Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever. My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no hurt. Then was the king exceeding glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.” (Daniel 6:21-23 WEB)
Think about the apostle Paul who was bitten by the snake after arriving on the island of Malta, and yet, the poison did not even affect him. Paul simply shook the snake off into the fire, and this became a powerful testimony to the island natives that the Jesus that Paul serves is truly God. Could Paul’s guardian angels have somehow disabled the snake’s venom before it was allowed to bite him?
In both Daniel and Paul’s situations, they were allowed to experience the appearance of danger, but the supernatural protection became powerful testimonies to glorify God.
In Daniel’s case, King Darius witnessed God’s power and wrote a decree which glorified God. In Paul’s case, the natives living on Malta were healed and saved, and the name of Jesus was greatly magnified.
God allows the semblance of danger at times so that He can swoop in at the right time with an amazing deliverance, to bring forth salvations and the furtherance of the Gospel.
God’s angels are assigned to protect His people. One-third of all created angels joined Lucifer in rebelling against God many years ago (Revelation 12:3-4), but the great news is that there are still two-thirds of angels who are on God’s side. There are more holy angels with us than there are demons against us.
Every day, I confess with my family, “Your angels guard us in all our ways.” No matter where you are and what you are doing, be conscious that you are so protected and loved by God!
A new faith declaration: “God’s angels guard me in all my ways. I am so loved and protected. God is for me, so I will tread and trample over all obstacles and enemies.”
I want to end off by sharing a powerful testimony about angelic protection from one of our patrons on Patreon. This is what the photo collage below is about:
“I was in a big accident 2017: a semi truck hit us at fast speed (trucks here are undisciplined), and I was also driving fast but it was a resident area. The truck tumbled (but those guys were ok), our car spun, I blacked out for seconds and when I opened my eyes my car was on the sidewalk. I sustained no wounds at all. My daughter was even in the car. I got dizzy but really no injuries, even though my car was wrecked. I always tell people that God helped because I prayed under my breath when I saw the truck in my face, but now I realized God did send His angels when I blacked out for those seconds…something did happen. Truly Psalm 91 never changes. Indeed, God's angels who are faster than lightning adjusted my car and kept us safe.” - Jema
