Almost 1 year of covid, and we were just thinking about ourselves. Whining about business, work, life, and stress - basically about everything. We totally forgot about the frontliners who have been working for 365 days nonstop almost, burning themselves down. Yesterday, I received a text at 6am from my close friend, asking me if we can help.
Last year in March we did a #PayItForwardWithRawsome, sending food to the frontliners and from there we managed to get our community to help and we even went to feed the urban poor for 6 months or maybe more together with @dapurjalanankl . And that was a year ago and it just seems like yesterday. In this battle of fighting hard times, I asked myself, what is my battle compared to theirs?
Because of Covid, we pivoted and diversified to #FrozenReadyToEat, and if it is not because of MCO, we wouldn’t have done this. Last year we contributed packed food and it wasn’t that ideal because it was perishable and cant be kept long and if it is left unattended it’s not fresh and might cause food poisoning and many, many more issues. So we learnt.
Here we are, again asking help from the community, this time we are sending frozen ready to eat to them because they have no time to cook, it can be kept in the freezer for a long period of time, convenient, just heating up, it is wholesome food and it’s affordable to contribute, RM6 per box. We are truly grateful, as I am writing we have collected 700 boxes on top of my own 500 boxes in less than 24 hours. I have nothing to say but thank you to all of you out there who are so kind, generous and big at heart. Just one IG story and we have managed to collect 1200 boxes and the numbers are still coming in.
Today I have started this initiative by sending 500 boxes in the morning and the doctors helped us distributed to 6 bases in Hospital Sg Buloh for the covid team. For those who think otherwise: Yes - if you think we are bringing in sales for ourselves, Yes - if you think it is a marketing scheme, Yes - if you think it’s a publicity stunt and Yes - we do make a little profit to cover our own team as we’re trying to survive. But for whatever the reason we have been constant. 🙏

Ragam anak DUA!
Bergaduh sambil2 nangis hentak kaki.. Datanglah maknya memujuk dan tenangkan mereka.
Lepastu sorang tidur, sorang berjaga.. Nanti bangun yang ni, yang tu pulak berjaga.. Bab makan kadang2 agak mencabar, kejap2 duk setempat, kejap2 berlari..
So mommy.. Selagi boleh sabar.. Sabar ya.. Budak2 kejap je dia macamni.. Nanti dah besar akal lain pulak yg datang.. 🤣🤣
Kadang2 memang rasa kagum dgn ibu2 yg menjaga anak mereka sendiri tanpa bantuan sesiapa.
Ianya BUKAN MUDAH!
24 jam menghadap muka diorang..
Diroang sebenarnya nakkan perhatian.. Umur 2, 3 tahun dah beradik. Kita nak paksa dia ikut rentak kita, mana maunya dia.
Sebab waktu tu, mereka pun sangat perlukan kita.
Kita nak fahamkan anak kecil yg masih belum mampu berfikir, memang susah.
Ibu marah bukan apa, sebab ibu rasa tak cukup nafas bila handle 2 ragam, 2 perangai, 2 manusia yg ibu perlu santuni sebaik mungkin.
Ibu baru nak berehat, adik pulak jaga.. Nak menyusu, nak bersihkan lampin dia.. Dan macam2 lagi.
Sebab tulah, surirumah ni happy gila bila tiba hari minggu..dapatlah rehat sekejap 2 hari. Ada yg suami sangat membantu dan prihatin, dapatlah mama me time lama2.
Urutlah isteri anda, bawa dia jalan2 bersiar2. Gunakan peluang sebaiknya utk bantu dia urus anak2. Dia tak dapat emas permata pun tak apa, janji suami sentiasa ada ketika saat2 yg tak terduga.
Boleh kan papa? 😍😍

Two children's behaviour!
One person is crying, the one who is not crying is also following..
Playing the couch climbing the couch, when his sister came along also jumping on the couch..
One person wants to play, even this person wants to do it.. Fighting while crying and throwing feet.. Come to the mother to persuade and calm them.
After one sleeps, one person is awake.. Wake up later, that one will be awake.. The food chapters are quite challenging sometimes, while staying locally, running for a while..
But that's the child.. When the wrong person is not with us, we will feel incomplete.. Kind of not enough ' korum ' feeling quiet suddenly.
So mommy.. As long as you can be patient.. Be patient.. He will be like this in a while.. Later he will have a big mind that will come.. 🤣🤣
Sometimes I am in awe of mothers who take care of their own children without the help of anyone.
IT'S NOT EASY!
24 hours facing their face.. Sometimes it feels like 24 hours is not enough. Time passes by for a while. All sorts of actions and behaviors they do.
Not enough legs and hands to handle.
There is something funny, there is something that grows up and there is a very test of patience.
Diroang actually wants attention.. Age of 2, 3 years old and siblings. Who wants to understand what we say, what we can and can't. We want to force him to follow our crash, where he wants.
Because at that time, they really need us. They want to be spoiled too. They also want to hug and kiss love from us. Her sister or brother are jealous, when her mother is more younger. They feel angry, when everything is controlled. Always the eldest one got hit, got angry and hit.
We want to understand children who still can't think, it's hard. There has to be a way, the technique has to be correct and have to tackle his heart
Mother is angry is nothing, because mother feels not enough breath when handling 2 behaviour, 2 human beings that mother needs to behave as best as possible.
Mom is also chasing to cook, manage the house, manage the school kids and everything.
Mom just about to rest, sister is taking care of her.. Want to breastfeed, want to clean her diaper.. And all sorts of things.
Because of the reason, this housewife is happy crazy when it comes to Sunday.. can rest for 2 days. There is a husband who is very helpful and caring, can be mama me for a long time. There is also a husband who is lazy to help, just face the phone, his mom is really complaining.
For husbands, if you have time.. Massage your wife, take her for a walk. Use the opportunity to help her manage children. She doesn't even get gold jewels, as long as the husband is always there during unexpected times.
Is it okay, is it okay? 😍😍

what kind of food do you like to cook 在 Bikepacker Min - 單車背包客 Facebook 的最讚貼文

Hey guys,
while staying for four days in Bangkok to repair audio amplifiers for rich Thai men I finally I found the time to write some sentences about Min and it was really not easy, because when I start writing something like this, I will write bullshit after three sentences. It is really not easy. Have you ever written something about another person and you have to talk good about this person while you know she is a liar and always went by train?
So the first try:
Min is pure gold. She is full of love and spirit and always wears white clothes. She is not cycling, she is flying fifty centimeters over the earth. NOOOOO fuck it!
second try:
Dear people, I have to warn you: this book is a fantasy book! If the author writes about kilometers on the bicycles she meant probably meters. When she writes bicycle she means train, when she writes tent she means three star hotel.......NOOOOO shit!
third try:
A short story about the first backpacker woman on a bicycle who travelled from Germany to Taiwan in a train
The first time I met Min was at the Turkmen embassy building in Teheran when she encountered me and asked: „Are you Vali, the German guy travelling to Uzbekistan by bike? I am Min, I also want to go there and I wanted to ask you if we can ride together?“
At this time I didn't want to know any other cyclists, somehow I was bored to hear stories of others while I was having a great adventure by myself. I enjoyed the silence and loneliness on the road since Jule, my cycle mate, left me in Istanbul. So actually I didn't want to travel with Min in the first moment, but I just answered to Min: „Well,...yes..., ok, if we get the visas we can ride together.“ So she asked for my contact and she really called me to pick up the visas.
I only had nine days left in Iran before my visa expired so we had to go really quick and I didn't know if Min was able to catch up. It was a change in rhythm for my bike tour, but when I started to know Min I found out that she is a funny girl with a burning ambition to fulfill her aim travelling by bicycle from Munich in Germany to her home country of Taiwan. A woman full of spirit and a good portion of naivety. She just started the trip without knowing what will come and without any experience of cycling and camping before this trip. She was equipped with a pop up tent, the kind of tent you have in the car for an emergency, when you are still on the highway and you get to tired to drive home. So you have this kind of round tent that you can throw and it pops up as a tent by itself. She also didn't have front panniers (bags) on her bike, so all her equipment was in the back – and also on her back, because she was wearing a backpack! Actually she was the first backpacker on a bicycle to travel from Germany to Taiwan. And that is the impressing thing about Min: she had the idea to do this trip, so she just did. She got a sponsored bike and some kind of sponsored equipment and she just took this and started the tour. She didn't think the German way like me who had to have a perfect bicycle and perfect equipment before I started. No, she just started without any spare parts for the bicycle, without any experience in cycling and camping. I never found out when she started to have this idea and why and probably she doesn't know herself even if she tells you different in this book.
So in the time in Iran we got to know each other and my mood was turning and I found out that it is nice to cycle with Min.
On day we also met Senda, an Hongkongnesian guy and in the evening Min and him were complaining about the Iranian rice, because it is not sticky so you cannot eat it with chop sticks. So you must imagine three people in front of their tents under a really nice Iranian starry sky in the desert and me as a German potato in the middle of this rice dicussion. I had to laugh for myself a lot and when I told them that I put salt in the rice when I cook it, the both got really angry. From this situation I learnt that rice must be something really important for Min, Senda and other people that eat rice as staple food. This night I decided to never cook any rice for them, because the knew it always better in terms of rice.
Senda went on to Afghanistan and Min and me went on to Mashad and we divided there to meet up in Uzbekistan again. On the way through Turkmenistan I met a crazy guy called Raimon a.k.a. Dirty Traveller and we went on together and when we left Turkmenistan we met Min again forming the golden triangle of cyclism, a dream team. Raimon is really passionate about cycling and a really lovely dude. We three had so much unique moments together, sharing the whole day together, only the nights we were divided by the thin cloth of our tents. We cycled together, we sweat together, we fighted together, we had nice evenings together while cooking nice dishes in front of our tents and having a really good time of freedom and self-determination. When I think back to this time now I have to admit that it was somehow the best time of my life. And Min was a big part of it.
If you want to know more about Min and her adventures you have to buy this book. It is totally amazing, I read it on the toilet and stayed there for two days until I finished reading. Reading this book is like breathing in the air of the Kyrgizian Plateau, it is like smelling the fart of Raimon while riding close behind him. It is just a best seller. It is the book that takes you and never leaves you. Absolute recommendation! Buy it!

OK. So today I would like to talk about cooking. Until three years ago, I was kind of guy who just never cooked. It's not like I wasn't interested in good food. I was just not interested in cooking, not interested in doing it yourself. I was like "well why do we have to do it because you can go to Gusto and eat an OK food". I never think that way anymore. And for some reason, about three years ago, I started cooking. And since then, what's been happening, since then, what's been happening to me is that I have more positive mind towards life. It's a big word, but I do have some kind of positive mind towards just daily living. And in my opinion I think every Junior High School student should learn how to cook. I think the schools should make it a regular subject to learn for students. I think by cooking, I mean, OK hold on... There's something I was going to say. There's something I was going to say. Hold on hold on. There's something I was going to say about cooking. What was this? Why is cooking so important? Why is that? In my opinion, cooking is such a fundamental skill to live a life. Like long time ago, if you cannot cook, if you cannot get what you eat, you would just die. So I think as a human cooking is such a fundamental skill to survive. So I think Junior High School students should learn how to cook and the schools should make it a regular class. And in my opinion even "ひきこもり" students will have... I have a solution for "ひきこもり" students. I think they should learn how to cook so that they will have more positive mind towards living. I think that's my solution for "ひきこもり" students.

In this video, I will show you how to enjoy Yakiniku indoors :D
Last week, I won a package of beef at the recipe contest. And along with the beef, I received a letter with some tips to enjoy Yakiniku indoors and I never knew them! So, I will share those tips with you!!!
Yakiniku is mostly beef but you can make it with chicken or pork or meat of your choice ;)
BTW, in Japan at home, we usually use electrical barbecue called "hot plate " to cook Yakiniku at table. I really envy those who have barbecue set at home! We don't have that big yard in Japan, you know... And sadly, from this April, our closest BBQ spot is going to close because of the littering problem.
---------------------------------
Yakiniku Indoors (Japanese Grilled Meat / BBQ)
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 10min
Number of servings: n/a
Ingredients:
beef or meat of your choice
soy sauce + wasabi (in tube or freshly grated)
ponzu sauce (citrus-flavored soy sauce: you can mix 1 tbsp. soy sauce and 1 tbsp. lemon juice to make it)
Tips:
1. Color of the Meat:
Pink, red, brown, or etc... what color of the meat is the best?
To answer this question, it is difficult to tell which is better until you eat them. So just ask the butcher and trust them. hehe
2. The best way to cook Yakiniku:
Make sure you let the meat get back into room temperature before you cook. You will see the surface of the meat shining with its own juice and grease when it's ready. Then you don't have to turn the heat down to low to cook and you won't lose any good flavor! That is why outdoor barbecue is always good (because your meat is at room temperature). Of course it is the best if you have BBQ grill set at home, but if you don't, you can use a grill pan, cast-iron skillet, or fryingg pan on the stove, because the key is the meat temperature! It is the same for Sukiyaki, Shabu-Shabu, steaks, etc...
3. The best way to eat Yakiniku:
Don't forget to season the meat with salt and pepper before you cook. That definitely brings out the flavor of the meat. For the sauce, wasabi soy sauce or ponzu sauce is the best! Simple yet delicious! You have to try it out.
*Grill the meat until it's done to your taste!
