One of the best Meals I had in 2018 😍😍😘 - the Winter Menu at Godenya (originally from Setagaya, Tokyo) is super attractive & comes with Sake Pairings. Highlight dishes for this season includes:
• < 香箱蟹 Female Snow Crab, usually eaten in sushi ya, but here made into an Italian-Japanese Risotto with Sake & Lily Roots >. Finish off this with pouring Sake into the Crab head carapace to drink.. *Note: This is not provided by default, you have to speak to the Sake Sommelier owner 🥶
• < Shirako たら白子 Pie with some 小麦, Truffle & Black Garlic, Aged Vinegar > Amazing Pastry itself & like a mini buttery Pithivier, filled with Cod Fish milt Sperm sac.
• < Kawahagi 皮剥魚 served with own Liver Sauce, Crispy Kelp, Eggplant, etc > is a highly Seasonal dish
• Others, including Chestnut & Sake Dessert were all good, the Latter actually carried a mini 栗 Creme Brûlée underneath it, the amazing details. This time the Kuro Abalone had a slightly weaker Liver sauce, I thought the only improvable point the whole night ! ...

Eating by myself after months of anticipation at【Casa Don Alfonso at Grand Lisboa 新葡京酒店, Macau】!
• Melanosporum Black Winter Truffles (6 Grams) for this time of the year, for the in-house made fresh Tagliolini egg pasta with Butter & Parmesan sauce 新鮮黑松露配意粉幼蛋麵. The Pasta was perfect in its cooking texture and eggy, the sauce was my preferred style of not being overly buttery or cheesy to dominate above the Truffles. This time of the year will see a transition from 1 Black Truffle to another Truffle offering soon, so this is an interesting period. If I come again in February, I would expect the Black Truffle to be more elegantly aromatic. Great job on this dish. MOP $250 is a decent price. Splurging out some money for eating Carbs at night ... 🖤💎
• Napoletana Pizza Margherita. The Pizza dough is fermented for 48 hours according to the staff, before being inserted into a powerful Electric Oven capable of 500℃. The VPN stipulated San Marzano D.O.P tomatoes base was expectedly sweet purée like, with the stringy Mozzarella Cheese and just enough Basil herbs to make it balanced. Apparently the Pizza comes out of the oven after around 45 secs, which means their oven is quite evenly powerful compared to wood fired ones, which usually takes around 60-90 seconds to bake perfectly with rotating the pizza. The dough was light airy, the side Cornicone blistered bubbly, easy to digest with a crisp. MOP $120
