We “ditched” the baby and had quality 2 hours with korkor at Tilo Kids Club Montigo Resorts! Apart from chasing after him around the airy and close to nature kids club, we did batik painting with him.
This was the first time we did painting from scratch! Using just pencil, a minion got drawn, and we had to use all that patience we have to go around the lines with the wax, it was NOT an easy job, ask Montigo’s Marketing manager, Luna!
Thank goodness she stay around to chit chat (while she did her painting as well!) as the waxing the lines was a long process. End up with a lot of “dots” and moles if we don’t control the flow properly. But it was really interesting and great for family team work as our son completed the artwork with his “perfect” painting skills 🤣! Definitely something to try if you are coming to Montigo with kids! What a memory to bring home to!

Angel's first attempt at batik painting. It's much harder than it looks and I'm glad she had the chance to learn more about this traditional art technique.
We were just talking about it that day, about how this big girl has had the chance to try out ballet, piano, swimming but she chose not to continue for all of them. Art, and only art, is the one thing she has loved since she was three and that is why we've continued on our journey for so long. She was the one who chose to, and we are lucky that we could make her dream come true.
I hope to always remind myself to support her passion (which might not be mine) and give her the freedom, time and opportunity to grow and bloom.
