A look around Sapporo Central Wholesale Market, with a fresh seafood breakfast, a giant crab and expensive Japanese fruit.
Sapporo Central Wholesale Market is a fish market in Hokkaido, Japan, slightly outside the city centre. It's said to be larger and less touristy than Nijo Market. There are lots of stalls selling fresh Hokkaido seafood, crab and fruit. Many of them will prepare the food for you to eat in their restaurants. We tried kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) at one of them, with salmon, squid and tuna. It's a good place to try really fresh fish. I had the vegetarian options - baked potato and sweetcorn. I think there's more to look round in the morning market if you get there earlier (we were there around midday).
